  1. I had to step away, but Welly is in and gave up a homerun to Barajas to straightaway center. 5-0 Rangers.
  2. OK, my bad Blalock hit into a FC. Kevin Mench then gets Blalock in, 4-0 Texas.
  3. Restovich in at 1st. Blalock grounds out, 2 away.
  4. Theriot, Ojeda and Mcgeehee in at 2nd, ss & 3rd.
  5. I'm listening to local radio in Texas. Pie on deck to PH for Pierre.
  6. It's 3-0 Texas, Z facing the knuckler.
  7. If he's not naming names where he has first hand knowledge, but naming names based on circumstantial evidence and speculation, that's lower than low.
  8. Full disclosure - I'm a Ranger fan: I think the Ranger radio crew is pretty good, especially Eric Nadel, the PBP man. Very knowlegeable about the game. But like all home announcers from another league they'll probably know a lot more about the Rangers. Let me know what you think.
  9. You mean the ones who can tell what drugs people have taken by looking at pictures of them in baseball uniforms? The thing I don't understand about the majority of people on this board is why they defend Sammy Sosa when they criticize Barry Bonds and say that he took steroids. The fact is that Sosa's body changed just as much as Bonds's did. Both of their heads looked like they got filled up with helium. Both of their bodies looked completely different in 2001-2002 than how they looked in the early 90's. Bonds went from a superstar to the best player ever in the game and Sosa went from an all star to a superstar. Both used to be 5 tool players and suddenly became home run hitters (although Bonds did keep his average up). In his last couple years Sosa was just a 1 tool player. Of course I don't have evidence that Sosa took steroids. My point is that everybody condemns Barry Bonds just cause he is an ass and nobody likes him but nobody says anything about Sammy Sosa just cause he's a good guy and people feel bad about his departure from Chicago. Please, don't hold a double standard. Use your brains to think and realize what actually happened. I'm done with this discussion. Not quite yet. You responded to my quote, and I've never accused Bonds or anyone else of steroid use. I am too modest about my diagnostic abilities to make such a claim about anyone. Now you're done.
  10. You mean the ones who can tell what drugs people have taken by looking at pictures of them in baseball uniforms?
  11. Ahhh, I believe you're referring to the Rod Beck program. Uh, actually it was the UBlink program.
  12. Correct. Grace is flat out wrong. A guy most certainly can gain 30-40 pounds of bulk if he works at it. And its easy to add 30-40 pounds of non-bulk without working at it.
  13. I couldn't find a smiley for one hand clapping...
  14. Nice article about R.A. Dickey My favorite quote - this is how we should all live our lives: It'll be interesting to see how the Cubs fare against a knuckler.
  15. Sac flies, most likely. Right...didnt think of that. Yeah, I kept looking, 2 SF's and only 1 BB will do it. DLee has a 500 avg and only 333 OBP.
  16. Duly noted. In fact, last year 1 & 2 accounted for 24.5% of the PA's 24.5% of th PA's and 24.6% of the runs scored. Sorry but with Ramirez and Lee behind them the 1-2 spots should be doing more than average in the run scoring department. What if your 3-4 hitters just did 23% of the RBI in 23% of the PA's? We'd be screaming, that's what! I absolutely agree that the players hitting in front of any team's 3 and 4 hitters should be getting more than their share of runs scored. I wasn't arguing that point, just keeping Fred on his toes (as he does so well to the rest of us).
  17. Last year, the first and second spots in the batting order (22.2% of the lineup), scored 173 of our total 703 runs (24.6% of the total runs). Lee & Ramirez scored a total of 192 times, while driving in a combined 200 runs. You wouldn't be exagerating a point there, would you ?? 1st and 2nd spots will get somewhat more than 22.2% of PA's, however.
  18. Can he catch the ball?
  19. You don't think you'll need to spend an hour dissecting each of Soriano's fielding opportunities today?
  20. Fixed your post. Puppets don't wield power. But evil geniuses cleverly disguised as village idiots have all the power.
  21. Boxscore Hit quote and see the difference.
  22. what happened? He hit a home run, then popped out twice. And then an RBI double? The original comment was made before the game ehen he was in the #2 spot. Did he double since then? I haven't been back to the game thread. I read the comment then went to see what he did, the timing was a little off I guess. Actually the original post was made after the home run. Nothing like a little Neifi success to to get the ink pixels flowing.
