  1. Man the NBA Draft goes so much quicker than the NFL draft.
  2. Oden number 1, what a shocker lol
  3. Also Florida is right in front of us in the WC
  4. He made the all-star team last year. Although he wasn't there for the game because he had to be taken to the hospital when Joey Cora accidentally hit him in the are with a bat during warmups. I knew there would be somebody who didnt get it. I was referring to Z's "new opening day" after the first 2 months of the season. lol
  5. I dont know but I know he killed my chances in fantasy baseball
  6. Why shouldnt Z be in the All Star Game? He didnt make it last season, but his numbers for this season have been Cy Young like...
  7. Thats ridiculous. 6-4 4.03 1.10 8-4 3.66 1.23 Guess whos Maddux and which is Lilly. Marquis numbers are comparable to Maddux, but that is only because of how dominant he started the season. Hes been a completely different type of pitcher since his first 4-5 starts. And Hills numbers are pretty comparable to Maddux. ERA+ 111 (Maddux) 108 (Lilly) 126 (Marquis) 139 (Hill) Disclaimer - Marquis should be nowhere near the ASG. He was great for 2 months, but then the real Jason Marquis showed up in June. 5 starts: 1.70 WHIP, 5.09 ERA, .269 BAA. Frankly, his May starts were half good/great and half terrible. And the good ones were against Pit (2) and SD (1), so I wouldn't want to see what the AL studs could do to him. Hill's been great, but his W total will kill him. As between Lilly and Maddux, I think it's a toss up. I agree its a toss up, and thats why I said its ridiculous to say Lilly deserved to go over Maddux. If Lilly deserves to be there then so does Maddux. but Lilly also hasnt been the same pitcher he was to start the season just like Marquis.

  9. WOW Marlins fans are happy a about getting Jones lol
  10. Im trusting Reds44 on this as hes got friends who are long time posters here.
  11. Im thinking pretty deep if he has 1 billion dollars to buy this team lol
  12. Oh crap, sit down and strap in, cause this might get realllllll ugly. Eyre into a close game....please please please dont suck
  13. Who the hell is this team dressed in the Cubs uniforms? Ah screw it I dont care but they better stay
  14. And here's a quote about Fontenot: Well, let's see. If Fontenot is going to continue to play, and DeRosa is going to be put somewhere, that means 1 of only two things. Either DeRosa is going to play RF (which I can see him doing tomorrow night) or one of DeRosa/Fontenot is going to move to short. Since Lou hints at a surprise, I hope that in the next week one of those two will be seen at short, since of course the DeRosa to RF thing has been talked about a lot. That's the only thing that makes sense to me that could be labeled a surprise at all. If one of those two does move to SS, the Cubs become a lot better offensively. Since tomorrow night is a left-hander, I think we'll have to wait a few days to see how this shakes out against right-handers and left-handers. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070624&content_id=2046554&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Lou loves messing with the media. I hope this isnt like the last "surprise"
  15. Right now, I just care about the Cubs winning the division (or the WC). If it takes 90, fine. If it takes 85 or less, I'm plenty happy with that as well. How the Brewers do over the next month has a big impact on if the Cubs are in the race or out of the race at the deadline (of course, what the Cubs do has a bigger impact). Is there even a chance at that?I havent seen the WC standings but Im guessing we are pretty far back 7th place in the WC entering the day, 8 back. There's only 2 teams near the top though, everybody else is within 3 to 3 1/2 games of the Cubs, so it's doable if the Cubs take advantage of their soft schedule coming up. BTW, if either San Diego or Arizona lose today, the Cubs will only be 7 back in the WC race after today. Ah I see I just assumed we were back a bit and there were quite a few teams ahead of us

  17. wow thats quite surprising. I didnt figure they would even look
  18. Soriano has a freaking cannon JESUS! Nice play by Hill also
  19. Was he completly worthless in his outings besides those 10.2? Not all of them. But he did give up runs in 4 of his next 5 outings. As I'm sure you already knew. Yea besides those 10 innings Cotts didnt look too good. Add in those horrific numbers in AAA, and I see nothing that warrants a call up.
