    Yea thats kind of what I meant by the schedule sets up nicely for Illinois. The road game at Wisc will be tough, but we get OSU at home.

    Not sure why you're shocked about that. Illinois' three wins: EIU, UL-Lafayette, Michigan. That's almost Notre Dame-like bad. They don't deserve to be ranked right now. Im looking more at their losses than I am their wins. They have 2 losses, both to top 10 teams. Illinois was in both of those games, and just dismantled a Michigan team, who beat Wisconsin. That's fine, but anytime you lose a game or two, you're going to drop in the polls. It doesn't matter if you lose to an unranked team or the #1 team in the nation. Michigan State just barely beat a horrible Iowa team and has beaten nobody, but they are ranked. Illinois is being punished to much for losing to 2 top 10 teams. Oh well Illinois schedule sets up very well for them from this point on.

    Ridiculous that U of I isnt ranked ahead of some of those teams. Illinois has 2 losses both to top 10 teams, and were in both games.

    bring it. michael turner rushes for 125 yards and 2 TDs, norwood breaks off a 54 yard TD run, while matt ryan goes 13-25 for 213 yards and 3 INT. Falcons win 24-17 Turner will not run for 125 yrds. The Bears run D is superb. You better hope Matt Ryan can beat the Bears, because it wont be the run game that wins the game for the Falcons.

    I loved this article. Whoever said winning our first world series in 100 years was going to be easy? If we win tomorrow, I'm going to be really excited about this team again. I like the fact that a non-Chicago media based writer still believes the Cubs can get there and win (and I do believe Kornheiser also is still on the bandwagon) but right now, I find it hard to get excited about this team. People can spew out stories how this team is "pissed" and all that and how they could do the UNPOSSIBILITY, but's let's face the Cubs don't have the history of coming back. Do the Cubs have the 84 Padres in them? Or the 86 Red Sox? Or the 04 Red Sox? Right now, I don't see it, and I will remain confident that by this team next week, we will be dissecting how the Phillies destroyed the Dodgers. The Cubs history has jack [expletive] to do with us coming back or not.

    kaplan was on Tribune Live tonight saying the players are pissed plain and simple. They arent moping, nothing like that, just that there are alot of players on this team right now very very angry. We will see what that means for them Sat night

    Apparently Lou went to Soriano at the far end of the clubhouse and the 2 had a conversation in Spanish. During the convo, it was overheard Lou telling Soriano to have some "cajones". I wonder if this talk to Sori is like Lous talk to Howry. We all know how well that worked....

    Yea Ill give Wittenmeyer credit for his article. He actually stated in there alot of pitchers get cortisone shots, and it is often considered maintenance on the arm. Agreed though, its a non story. If Harden was hurt, there is no way in hell Lou would pitch him down 2-0. He'd let Lilly start game 3, and if we'd win he'd figure something out for game 4.

    Good article from Chris De Luca regarding Piniellas questionable descisions come playoff time the last 2 years. The questionable decisions by Lou started with Howry making the playoff roster, and they just keep going and going so far.
