  1. He's not. Since when? Last thing I read was there was mutual interest. Has another report came out since I read that(last night)?
  2. So what exactly is the point of a message board if stuff isnt suppose to be debated about?
  3. I'd rather have Cowher too. I'm just disagreeing on how big the difference is between the two. He's still pretty young, though. Way younger than I thought he was. Only a year older than Smith. They've already said that Cowher won't go anywhere unless they have a franchise QB...sorry, but I dont think Orton can be part of that group yet If Cower will only go where there is a franchise QB, then why is he interested in the Jets job?
  4. Can we just fire Lovie instead and hire Shannahan to replace him? :D
  5. Losers say what? [-X I dont know what the "losers" have to say, but the winners say SUCK IT...
  6. Illinois vs Purdue tonight. Time to see this Illinois team against some real competition. Lets go Illini!
  7. Tillman would be in the middle of a lot more plays as a safety to help create turnovers, which he has always done really well. What do you guys think? Interesting idea and one I like mainly because I think Tillman is greatly overrated as a cornerback. His cover skills just arent very good.
  8. Lets not forget either that the year the Bears made the Super Bowl was one of the weakest years ever in the NFL.
  9. No, not true. Relying on turnovers in this scheme is simply relying on athletes making things happen. It is essentially playing for luck. It is not outscheming or outcoaching the opposition. Hmm, funny how that luck keeps happening for the Bears more than any other team. Almost as if they were coached to go for the ball... You dont think every teamn in the NFL is coached to go for the ball? The fact that the Bears have been getting turnovers is more on the players than being coached to go for the ball. Every damn teamn in the NFL wants turnovers and is told to go for the ball. Id like to see your defense of Lovie on his personnel decisions that I laid out on page 1. Those are all very big reasons why Lovie should be fired, and is not a very good head coach.
  10. Id be all for firing Lovie Smith but its not happening. The guy has made terrible decision after terrible decision when it comes to personnel. Mark Anderson over Alex Brown? Cedric Benson over Thomas Jones? The whole QB competition bs. Our 3rd round draft pick Bennet cant see the field even though the guys playing have no business on an NFL roster(Rashied Davis). His terrrible time management. His terrible decision making on plays to throw the red flag on, and which ones not to. His gutless punting while in the opponents territory. And those are just the reasons I came up with off the top of my head. Lovie Smith is not a good NFL head coach plain and simple. Hes overmatched, and quite frankly Im tired of his act with the media. Smith has been given more decision making when it comes to the draft in recent years and what has that gotten the Bears?Forte, and thats about it. In my opinion the Bears have to shake some things up. 1st and 2nd need to be both cooridinators fired immediately. Then I look to see what Urlacher would fetch the Bears in a trade along with Vasher. This draft is going to be loaded with linebackers, and as we all know that seems to be Angelos specialty so lets make a splash.
  11. Id be interested in Maranelli as DC but I just wonder how hard of a sell it would be for the Bears front office. Firing a DC to hire a guy whos team just went 0-16 seems pretty questionable really, but I would be up for it.
  12. This statement loses a lot of meaning when it gets said 2-3 years in a row. Our mascot can dance whenever he wants. Yea I guess we probably started saying it about ohhhh 8 years ago or so..... 9 in a row soon
  13. Its way too late in the day without some trash talking so Ill get it started....SUCK IT MIZZOU If you dont win tonight, its going to be a long long time before you beat Illinois again. ILL
  14. I cant let this go without mentioning it.....NORTHEASTERN!
  15. This team is beyond frustrating
  16. Ben Gordon is on FIRE! 18 1st quarter points, just sucks he picked up his 2nd foul already
  17. Does it really shock anybody that a judge in Minnesota would rule in favor of the 2 Vikings players, now allowing them to play the rest of the season.... Not surprising at all
  18. Are you near Chicago? If so it will be on Local TV... Nope Im in Galesburg(near Peoria) and I bowl on Thursday nights at a bowling alley that doesnt get NFL network. Guess Ill be following on my phone gahh Watch it online!!!! nfl.com has a simulcast, and its a good feed too. Especially if its anything like NBC's simulcast. Uhhh did you miss the part of me bowling on Thursday nights lol. I dont think the bowling alley wants me to carry my pc in there while I bowl :D

  20. I FREAKING HATE THURSDAY NIGHT NFL NETWORK GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Might want to check your facts before you claim stuff. Dero put up 3 straight months of OPS 835 or higher to start the season. Outside of his Aug where he OPS'd 1.100 those first 3 months of the season were Deros highest OPS's by month.
  22. Wow this is a shallow way to look at things. Peavy has only had one GM and thats Towers. We dont know what kind of relationship he has with Towers. The way you are describing the situation its like saying if Wood wanted to go to the Yankees when he was a FA, do you honestly think Wood would've told Hendry screw this trade me to the yankees. Unlike some people, Peavy probably feels he owes it to the Padres to help them out a little. Just because Peavy doesn't speak up and say screw this trade me, doesn't me he wants to be a Cub. Its not a question about Loyalty, its a question about professionalism and respect. While all that is true, Peavy could also use the respect angle against the Padres as well. They signed him to this deal how long ago, and now are trying to trade him. Peavy could feel like he owes them nothing since they are the ones who openly put him on the market, he didnt demand anything.
  23. Lol where in the hell did this come from :-k
  24. I didn't want Ibanez at all. But if the Rays can convince Bradley to go there, the Phillies get Ibanez, the White Sox get Abreu, does that leave us Dunn? I know the Rays are the flavor of the month, but if given similar offers, I cant see Bradley chosing the Rays over the Cubs. You never know what the season will bring, but Im guessing that the Rays had their chance, and the Yanks and Sawx are going to resume their dominance over the division. Id be guessing you are pretty wrong. Tampas season wasnt a fluke. I wouldnt call it a fluke, but will they still be good enough to compete now that the powerhouses are retooling? The Yankees have been trying to retool and buy their championship for years now, and it hasnt got them a championship.
