  2. for kent's sake he Kent be serious! Dear Kent!! do it right or don't do it, man! BTW, how did we miss Merker's name as a divine injunction in our list of nsbb memes?
  3. Me too. So much is said about Theo (and rightfully so!!). But this is the man that got the man that got these great players. I propose a giant gold statue of his likeness be erected in grant park! Kinda like this.
  4. I hope it's (finally) Pujols! He can be fasciitis buddies with Russell.
  5. nah, it was a bad play, but nothing worse than some other "great" left fielders have made. He'll be a DH on the downhill side of his career, but don't write him off on one play. He got a little lazy. My guess is it will motivate him. I don't think it is laziness. He just doesn't read the ball well or see it some times. If you watch the play again, you can clearly see him jogging before he realizes he is out of position and he tries to sprint to the ball. He routinely does this. Some of his more "spectacular" catches were because he was out of position on the ball and managed to run it down. I'm talking about the second error. He frustratedly slapped at the ball instead of going down and getting it. It may have been more a desire to turn and make a quick throw, rather than laziness or frustration though. Don't try to Javy, Kyle. Just go back to Kyling.

  8. bleep-bleep bloop-bloop... accessing data "russell lady friends"... loading... 1.5 billion results... loading... this might be my favorite david robot post ever. and from such a dark horse poster. I may not bring quantity, but I try to deliver quality.
  9. not all... but a bunch. when people pop up on the suggestions i add them if i have any idea who they are. i don't even know why but occasionally something interesting or fun comes of it. or a lot of times another cubs twitter person will like/retweet and it'll pop in my feed as well. bleep-bleep bloop-bloop... accessing data "russell lady friends"... loading... 1.5 billion results... loading...
  10. I'm really sick of hearing how deep Cleveland's bench is. Seriously, this Cubs team is deep, and most of the guys have been regulars at some point in the season due to injury. This team is great.
  11. https://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2014/3/27/5555938/2014-mlb-preview-ironclad-surefire-predictions Just stopped b the BR page for the 2014 Cubs. Travis Wood led the team in games started and IP. Its almost like they were trying t--- Oh. Oh I see.
  12. Will we be getting awesome insight from the NSBB TBS Playoffs insider bot?
  13. I like it. but like you said, not enough to risk what is working. Also, with an odd number of teams in each league, it makes scheduling difficult as one division has an extra team. Perhaps this is a viable solution if they ever do expand again. (better than 4 divisions in each league)
  14. Can't wait 2 more day for Cubs awesomeness? Here's a much needed bump!
  15. 11-0 run thru the postseason would be nice Show Cleveland what a meaningful streak looks like.
  16. you know who else throws 96? Justin Wilson just did It would be nice if he wasn't a crap bag during the playoffs.
  17. 4-5 guys who make the postseason roster. Maybe 2 who start game 1? All three backup catchers in the starting lineup! Love day-after-clinch day. Would love to eliminate cards with that lineup.
  18. my NBC sports app cut out in the middle of this interview. I missed the bit at the end but was thinking the same thing. I just rewatched it in its entirety and this is so damn funny. he never breaks character. it's almost as funny as the time he complained about maddon taking starting pitchers out early after he got ejected from the game. Solution: Take starting pitchers out in the 6th inning, and put Lackey in in relief. Surely he'll like it then, no?
  19. That's my cousin. (the mom)
  20. I just don't see him fitting. He's sure as hell not gonna start, and with his first inning woes he's not cut out for the bullpen either. At some point you have to seriously consider that Lackey is a better option than Lester as a postseason starter this year. BLASPHEMER!!!
