  1. Crimmeny, it was the 1st inning. I think we can have some patience. I like this 3 game streak we are on. But after Rusch gives up another run in the second, and two more in the third, we'll be into the pen by the fifth and it just doesn't look good. This doesn't sound like the Vance that we all know! Watching the way Rusch was pitching in the first, I hate to say there's little there to inspire confidence. He's getting behind in every count and getting hit hard when he is near the plate. 8 batters in the first doesn't usually bode well. Yummy, yummy crow

  4. alright Barrett!! ANother runner to strand!
  5. Crimmeny, it was the 1st inning. I think we can have some patience. I like this 3 game streak we are on. but it was an ugly first inning. I like the streak. I don't like rusch's chances of keeping it alive.
  6. :D Thank you steve stone. It did once at Coors Field in its 10 years of baseball. <------------- missed it
  7. I hear ya. I think "good rusch" was a fluke.
  8. oh how the mighty have fallen.
  9. If you sign Nomar, and I think they should, you have to make it incentive laden based on PA. If he goes down you go with Cedeno and you have questionable production on the cheap, which means you have major cash for the trading deadline. If Nomar stays healthy you pay a little more for (hopefully) much more production. If he doesn't go for the incentive laeden deal, you look at Furcal. I'll get staned for this, but the problem this year hasn't been offense, it been pitching. You spend your money on starting pitching and maybe a closer. Prior, Z, Burnett, Millwood, & Maddux You bank on Wood back by may, and he replaces whichever starting pitcher is on the DL at that point.......
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The reason he pees on his hand is to heal blisters. It's the roids in the urine that heal the blisters. Stay away from Alou!
  11. You're right about that outfield lacking power. At least one of the corner outfielders needs some. Not a lot of options though. And counting on Murton is a BIG "if"
  12. Tree had 78 pitches. :?: All 3 pitchers combined for 89 pitches. Yes, but he doesn't have a title in his name like me and the good Doctor. Perhaps if he was Senator Treebeard or Reverend Treebeard he would get the recognition.
  13. Wow again. Sorry, Officer. Wasn't meant to be rude or degrading to RynoRules, and is he (she?) took it that way, my apologies. But there's not a GM in any league, major leagues to fantasy leagues, who would make that trade. Just you, indeed. Not policing just defending. Back to the point: This isn't a gm we're talking about, its Steinbrenner. A healthy wood would look good to the yanks. Wood, Dope, Rusch, and the chance to sign Nomar might look good to Georgie boy. But if Wood and Nomar are healthy, I'd rather keep them and save the dough.
  14. I'm still for signing that elephant. or jennie finch
  15. Wow. If Hendry ever pants'd another GM that bad, they'd immediately start work on his plaque in the GM wing of the Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, he'd have to retire, since no other team would ever make a trade with him again. Way. Off. Base. and not amusing. Am I missing something here? Its just that while I don't think a healthy Wood and Dope gets you A-rod, I also don't think the suggestion was preposterous. Nor do I think that it would get Hendry into the hall of fame. That it would make Hendry look evil or make GM's beware of him is also something that I firmly do not think. Add to the list of things I fail to believe the idea that "nobody's" post was humorous or his degradation of another poster's idea was acceptable. In summary, I found the post "way off base, and not amusing" ...just me, I suppose.
  16. Must.....be......optimistic......ahhhhhh Maddux goes 8 innings tonight. 92 pitches, 51 for strikes.
