There is going to be a drafted QB if they do not make a big trade. There will be, but he'll be bench-riding the year behind Dalton and Foles. Or Foles and Dalton. Could go either way, big drama.

It's just a little airborne, it's still good, it's still good. Bears fans are gonna need a little more time to process that it's a Dalton/Foles QB battle this year, I see. Pace is doing what Pace always does: Managing his assets poorly and then horsefeathering up the QB situation. Next up is doing *just* well enough in the draft to keep the team from bottoming out so he doesn't get fired. Then repeat it all again next year.

Dalton on a one-year deal at least doesn't do any active harm to the long-term. I'll call that a win, even though dreaming about Russell was fun.

Hooray they did make up for the previous one. Halfway through the season, they are 7 points clear of a playoff spot. If they get Dach back and a goalie gets hot, they could be dangerous.

Unless they changed it in the last few years when I stopped paying attention, you can exceed the cap by 10% in the offseason with no penalty, so as long as you don't have a bunch of LTIR guys, you can use the overage to cover for them in the offseason and still sign guys as if they weren't there.

Seabrook will live the next few years on the LTIRetirement Island where he's still rostered but doesn't count against the cap during the season. It's not exactly the same as the contract disappearing, but it's as close as you're gonna get and definitely helps.

Not a whisper. They lost with literally less than a tenth left in OT to the Lightning but looked perfectly competitive with them all game. I'll take that point.
