  1. I didn't either. Maybe Zambrano should buzz Cap to let him know it's not appreciated.
  2. Zambrano looking good so far. I hope he continues. We need this game.
  3. If the Brewers win anything this year or next, it will be with Ben Sheets as the ace.
  4. They just showed Dempster in the stands signing autographs. That's pretty cool of him.
  5. Uhmmm Capuano is not near the pitcher Sheets is.
  6. I'd bet they're more likely to take Rusch than Jones. Doubt Philly wants to touch two more years of Jones. Some other teams might tho. That would really depend on Marshall's perceived value at the time. Since they'd be saving money by getting Marshall an unloading the 15+ million payments to Abreu, they'd still be saving significant money.
  7. According to Len, they're starting under a delay, so it looks as if the game won't start on time.
  8. Ohman still hasn't been as bad as Rusch, and he was a lot more effective last year as a lefty reliever. Sending him to the minors would also burn his last option. The best move right now really is to let Rusch keep starting, like he wants...in Iowa. I agree. Notice above in an earlier post I said he should be DFAed. I just think Ohman's performance could be enough reason for the Cubs to try to stash Rusch in the pen a little longer.
  9. For Burrell, or Abreu? Abreu. I have the feeling that if the Phillies are under .500, Gillick will want to re-make the team and rid himself of the financial commitment to Abreu. He'll need pitching and depending on how they pitch from now until July, Marshall could have a lot of value to a team like the Phillies. I don't think the Phillies consider the deal now, but if Marshall continues to show excellent poise and gets and keeps his ERA under 4, I think he will have a tremendous amount of value to teams looking for pitching.
  10. I'd probably make the Phillies an offer of Marshall, Ryu or Hill, and Scott Moore or Ryan Harvey provided they take Jacque Jones as well.
  11. I figure Hendy would feel foolish to send 5 Mill to the minors. That is where Rusch belongs, however. I'm getting the feeling there is a greater sense of urgency this year and the Cubs will not put up with mediocre performances. Wuertz was on a short leash as was Williams. In years past, those guys would have still been here. I have no doubt that Rusch's days in the rotation are numbered. The only thing that could keep him in the pen isn't his salary but the fact that Ohman is struggling as well.
  12. It's good to see Barrett back in the line-up.
  13. My philosophy with voting early is to vote for those who I like or I want to make it. As it goes along, I'll drop some of those that don't deserve it from my ballot. But if they don't get enough votes early, the ones that come on strong late may not have enough votes to get there. That being said, thanks to the Glendon "Boobs" Rusch debacle yesterday, I got 1000 votes cast.
  14. Just for fun, I voted 25 times for all Cubs on Jabroni's email address.
  15. I think Wuertz will be be brought back in the place of Aardsma if not for any other reason than to swap out an arm for one that's not going to be able to go for a few days. I'd also like to see Rusch DFA'ed and Hill brought up.
  16. Claude Wroten continues to slide. Someone is going to steal a major talent by drafting him.
  17. I'm not sure if fake emails work or not. They send an email back to you thanking you for your vote. I'm not sure what they would do if that email bounced. My plan works really well though.
  18. According to Bensen, you don't pass up a talent like Reggie Bush.
  19. I can't believe Addai went so high. I expected high second round, but not this soon. He's fun to watch.
  20. Well, looks like a good afternoon to get ahead on some All-Star voting.
