  1. I really despise Jones. He's worse than Alou on the bases. I might could forgive him if he hit like Alou. But he runs bases like Moises and hits like Auggie Ojeda.
  2. Is that like saying I'd rather be kicked in the head than punched in the nuts. It's more like kicked in the shin or punched in the kidneys. It's not like we're pursuing Tuffy Rhodes. Going after Tuffy Rhodes would be like having electrobes taped to the scrotum.

  4. Probably not much of a need to right now. The Iowa outfield consists of Pie, Padgett, Greenberg, and Coats. I don't think Restovich will be up that much longer, so Iowa will certianly have a full outfield when that happens. West Tennessee seems to be a good place for him right now. My guess is Restovich is up until either Lee or Pagan is back. Pagan is likely a month a way...Lee longer. Nic at one time was supposed to be a top player. Injuries have held him back, but now that he's healthy he's looking good. I'd like to see him at Iowa so we'd know what we have in him.
  5. How long before Nic is moved on up to Iowa? It looks like he's found his stroke again, and I'd like to see him play against better competition. He might be needed for the bench before this year is done. Can he play 1b?
  6. Hopefully we will. I may also be coming back to see the game on Tuesday.
  7. Link It's also being reported that Stan Katsen, formerly of the Braves, will be team president.
  8. Somewhat off-topic, but who will be pitching for the Jaxx on Sunday?
  9. I'm guessing 4-6 back.
  10. Merkcer was the nicest and least arrogant baseball player I ever met. that's fine. but the way he handled his spat with stone was lame and unprofessional It seems Stone was even more unprofessional. It seems the great "high and mighty" Stone just couldn't handle someone not bowing to him. I really agree with you. Stone is one of the most overrated broadcasters ever. I miss Alou far more than I'll ever miss Stone. Alou 2005: 321/400/518 Alou 2006: 360/405/667 That would have looked nice in our outifeld last year and this one too!
  11. We can do better than this. Come on. With a highspeed connection, voting 25 times takes 5 mins a day. Who will step up for me? Sorry, I've already started 100/day, and I thought I posted that. Turns out I'm an idiot. Gotcha! Thanks!

  13. If people start threads out of order, bad things happen! Respect the game thread karma, people.
  14. While it could be just a slow start, Millar has been abysmal this year. 203/286/362. :puker:

  16. Not Cabrera. Maybe Abreu, but it depends on how Hill performs at the major league level. It's going to take one hellova package to get Cabrera. The Marlins might deal him, but they aren't in any hurry to do so.
  17. Open the damn packs...live on da edge!
  18. David, Thanks for taking our questions. I read somewhere that you were a Cubs' fan growing up. Is that correct? If so, what did it feel like when you found out you had been traded to the team you were a fan of?
  19. Ok, there's no way we get a top talent like Abreu without giving up Pie or Marshall. It just isn't going to happen. It's nice to say we don't want to trade this player or that one, but Hill is unproven at the major leagues, Guzman is still struggling, and Harvey has holes in his game right now. Teams that are unloading guys like Abreu, especially to convince them to trade them this early, is going to take the cream of the crop. If we refuse to give up one of the jewels of the system, they will just wait until we get desperate or trade with someone willing to offer value. Once Wood and Prior come back, Marshall could be expendable. I'd love to hang on to him....but I have a strong feeling he is the best trading chip we have.
  20. Ok, that was so funny it's hard to believe it's real....but awesome!
  21. With that much salary to take on I'd have to think Abreu won't be too expensive. There will be a number of teams lining up to get him, including the Cardinals. I don't think he'll be available too cheaply.
  22. I think Abreu could be had for Marshall, Jones, and Harvey.
  23. I went there for Fan Fest this year. I'll try to remember to take the camera. I hope to get some autographs while I'm there as well.
