  1. I'm waiting to hear back from my war room, but I thought I would share some thoughts and get input on the Cowboys pick. With Decastro off the board, I have little doubt the Cowboys will go for defense. The players under consideration are likely Upshaw, Barron, Cox, Brockers, Kirkpatrick, or Janrois Jenkins. With the signing of Carr- I'm thinking they will pass on Kirkpatrick or Jenkins and look at the other players. Spencer is playing on franchise tender, so Upshaw could be an option. I have concerns about whether he has the speed needed and would he really be an upgrade over Spencer. Brockers has the measureables that intrigue me, but his film production and the fact he only had 2 sacks makes me wonder if he will reach his ceiling. I really like the versatility of Cox and believe he could play both end and NT in Dallas's 3-4 front. He also seems to be a disruptor, but he lacks the size of Brockers. Barron is the best safety in the draft, but I'm not certain he's a difference maker. He's solid and will likely be a good strong safety, but he lacks that speed I would want from a safety selected this high in the draft. Thoughts?
  2. A- Pujols B- Longoria, Napoli C-Alex Rodriguez, Holliday, McCann D- Hanley Ramirez, David Wright, Jason Heyward, Ethier, Ryan Zimmerman WC- PM
  3. I'm thinking Payton may have coached his last game with the Saints.
  4. Now that the trade for the number 2 pick has been completed, I don't think we should allow trades. Too hard to work out. And, how about we start this on April 1?
  5. It's official. Manning and Colts will part ways.
  6. Saints place exclusive rights tag on Brees today. Most believe this will prevent them from being able to sign Colston or Nicks.
  7. What I'm hoping is 2-fold. Braun now will get off the ped's and he will suck or He fails his first test of 2012. Either would be hilarious!
  8. What is really going to make things bad for the Saints, in my opinion is... 1. Reducing injuries and dirty hits has been an emphasis lately. Goodell can't be talking about player safety and then look the other way here. 2. The Saints covered it up. 3. The fact that this went on for three years- 2 years of that after they knew the NFL had looked into it. 4. That even when they knew they were being investigated, the GM and HC did nothing to stop it. 5. The Saints have developed a reputation in recent years of doing things their own way and somewhat thumbing their nose at the league. 6. Benson isn't a favorite of other league owners. There will be pressure put on Goodell to drop the hammer. All of this equals to a perfect storm for the Saints getting heavy duty punishment. Of course, most of the callers on the local talk radio around here have tried to minimize it, say they should fine the Saints, and that's all.
  9. The penalties are going to be severe. Goodell will use this to try to discourage other teams from doing the same. Like I indicated earlier, I expect multiple draft picks to be surrendered. The team will be fined between 500k and 1 million. Williams will be fined and suspended. Multiple players will be fined...and maybe a 1-2 game suspension to the worst offenders. If all I have read is true, Vilma likely faces a 1-2 game suspension. Loomis will be punished in some capacity. Peyton may escape a 1-2 game suspension, but I can bet he will be fined 100-250K.
  10. A couple of thoughts about the Saints situation. First, I expect the penalties to be a tad worse than the Patriots received in Spygate. The NFL has made a concerted effort to clean up the sport. Bounties on players isn't going to play well. I'm hearing they could lose next year's first round pick and a possible second or third round pick this year. In addition, the organization could be fined upwards to 1 million. The players involved will likely get fined but probably no suspensions. Second, did they forget to put bounties on Vernon Davis and Marshawn Lynch?
  11. Me too, please. Welcome to the war room.
  12. Speaking of that... I have a Sean Marshall and Matt Murton signed game worn Diamond Jaxx jerseys.

  14. I don't know. I've had access ever since I had a two-month term as an owner and it was never taken away.
  15. Are you ignoring the lengthy PM I sent you on purpose. hey let's not make the new guy who took over the [expletive] team ever quit after 1 day. Starting up already, Adam? I'm not the commissioner, yet I bring the new guy into this forum, sign him up for the league, send out messages to the the rest of the owners, send a helpful and extremely lengthy explanation of how the league works, poke a fun jab when he's asking questions that I've already explained in PM and what's your awesome contribution? Just stop showing everyone your ass, Adam. Just stop. No one enjoys it but you. Aww come on. Adam has a really nice ass.
  16. I give you permission to use this thread.
  17. vance yes I have a Ryan Harvey auto baseball to donate. I also may have a Luke Hagerty signed ball if I didn't let my dog play with it in the yard. Oh wait- y'all would probably prefer the Mark Holliman autograph. But...yeah...I got some stuff...most of it signed crap...but you can have it.
  18. I heard Tebow called and offered Hamilton forgiveness.
  19. I am. Russel Wilson has looked pretty good. I'm intrigued by him, depending on where he goes. The player that intriques me the most is Janoris Jenkins. Has hell of a lot of talent, but the character concerns are real. He claims to have learned from it...but who really knows. The Cowboys could use a CB and Jenkins is likely there at 14, and based on talent is top ten type player, but is he worth the risk there? He's looked good so far today.
  20. Anybody watching the Senior Bowl today?

  22. I hate the Giants. The rest I don't care. Give me 49ers-Ravens.
  23. T-Bob has appeared on several radio shows dismissing it. I don't know. Also, Shepherd has decided not to entire the draft and is staying at LSU. Who knows how much is true?
  24. Gregg Williams is leaving Saints to join Fisher in St. Louis. Short list of replacements includes Spagnola, Nolan, and Del Rio.
