You want Redskins fans to read that and get upset, don't you I really don't want Flynn going to the Redskins. He's one of my favorite LSU players of all-time but if he goes to Washington, I will have to hope he gets broken in half or something like that.
i have to wonder if what happened with cassel would make teams reluctant to deal a high pick for flynn. cassel came from a similar situation (strong performance on a team loaded with offensive weapons, though he played most of the year whereas flynn has had just a couple of games in relief). cassel's performance for kc has been pretty mediocre. i suspect a lot of teams will be asking if flynn's big numbers were mostly due to playing on a really good, well-coached offense. Schefter in another article seems to indicate that Green Bay will just let Flynn walk and take the supplemental pick rather than risk the franchise tag. Shefter says that Flynn will want to pick where he plays and could simply sign the franchise tag and Green Bay would be on the hook for a one year salary in the 17-20 million range. So, I guess there will be some intrigue involved with everyone speculating exactly what will happen with him. My guess is a team like Washington or Seattle that is drafting too far down to get Luck or Griffen will get Flynn with a 5/50 contract with about half of that guaranteed.
About Flynn's impressive day- http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7413505/nfl-does-matt-flynn-week-17-performance-mean?addata=2009_insdr_mod_nfl_xxx_xxx and.... and finally about whether the Packers can get anything for him-
Flynn is a FA unless the Packers franchise tag him. Packers are going to get the chance to trade Flynn according to ESPN Fantasy Football. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/11443/matt-flynn Flynn is a FA. The only way GB gets to trade him is to slap the franchise or transitional tag on him. That could be risky as they could end up having him making a crapton of money as a back-up.
there's pretty much no chance he keeps his job, right? they completely quit with at least a quarter of the season remaining. Well, I know he's not going to fire himself.
So which team gives him a contract in excess of 5 yrs 50 million? He's probably a better QB than the ones in Jacksonville, Washington, Cleveland, Minnesota, Seattle, and Tennessee. oh and maybe the Jets too.
That int there by Sanchez is comical. He's horrible but because he got the Jets to two AFC championships, they will roll with him and he will kill any chance for success they have.
It's a moot point as Saban would never leave Bama for Penn State in its current condition. I'm not saying Saban would never leave Bama...he just might. But even Saban isn't crazy enough to jump for a school that's just been involved in a scandal as bad as what is going on in Happy Vallley.
Gunner Kiel commits to LSU. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/conversations/_/id/7394391/indiana-prep-qb-gunner-kiel-commits-lsu-tigers That's a nice addition to the Tigers.
Play him outside Excellent point. If the Saints played the Packers in the Dome, I would take the Saints as my pick. But, with that game being in January in Lambeau, I think the Packers would win.
