    Fred, do you have the stats on hand for how many runs the Cubs scored in the first inning last year? Seems like we're halfway to that total already. :D

    Don't know how much stock I put in what Levine has to say, but if true this is a very good move by Hendry. I think it's a lock that Hendry offers Dusty an extension if the Cubs have a good year this season, but I have my doubts about Dusty accepting the extension. Either way I'm hoping we have a new manager for the 2007 season.

    No problem. It sounds like it's all but a done deal anyway. The bigger questions are will Hendry try to re-sign Baker, and will Baker accept if he's offered.

    Are you sure he's already been extended? The bottom line on ESPN 2 just quoted the suntimes article saying the Cubs plan on extending Hendry's contract, making an announcement maybe as soon as Thursday. Here's the Suntimes article: Suntimes

    Jacque Jones is a terrible defensive outfielder. Aaron Miles is a Hall of Famer. Aaron Miles can rake. Didn't you see he almost hit for the cycle today? He's a shoe-in for the hall of fame.

    I wish Miles could be part of the bet with Vance! I'm sure Vance feels the same way. Miles had a similar outing in the first game last year. You know how that turned out by the end of the season. I'm pretty sure Vance would prefer to keep it Spivey considering he plays for Memphis. Miles isn't going to be much better. We should just give you one of our eight 2b. :D
