There are a certain couple of relievers who received lucrative, multi-year contracts a couple years ago as well. howry was good for a couple of years before we signed him and has been a pretty good reliever for most of his career... you'd have a hard time finding anyone who would say that the howry signing wasn't a very good one for the cubs. the eyre signing, on the other hand, was idiotic. I wasn't thinking Howry. I was thinking more of Hawkins.
