    According to what I heard Kap say tonight, the plan would be to have DeRosa play 1 day a week at 2B, 1 day a week in the OF (either Soriano or Fukudome getting a day off), 1 day a week at a corner infield spot, and then the rest of the time be a bench option. For whatever reason the Cubs really seem to think he is more valuable playing 3-4 days a week than 6-7 days a week. It's hilarious to me that DeRosa can't be a starter, but the spark plug Theriot gets a starting job no problem.

    Sounds like it's a done deal. You guys got a good coach there. Although he's no spring chicken, I wouldn't have minded seeing him get a chance at the Michigan job.

    By the way, I'd be pissed if I were an Orioles fan, knowing that every trade they've talked about has needed approval by Angelos. Talk about micromanaging.

    I do have to say, the thought of getting Roberts after worrying we were going to be stuck with Matsui for 3 years does have me excited. I just hope Hendry doesn't give up Hill in the process.

    I wonder if any are reading this thread and getting angry about how unrealistic our trade proposals are? they are. everyone overvalues their players. they think we're being ridiculous. we think they're being ridiculous.

    I've been trying to get on their the last couple of days but you now have to be a member. Any of their insiders saying anything? Nothing really. Of course, the consensus there is that they want Hill + Pie for Roberts. If it's Gallagher, they want Gallagher + Pie + Patterson. I've learned since reading that board, that they expect a lot for their players. For what reason do you have an account on an Orioles message board? A couple of legit insiders post there. Yep. I haven't seen any of them chime in on this news yet. One of them said yesterday that Roberts wouldn't be traded.

    I dont have accss, care to post some snipets? Most of them are expecting to get Pie and Hill back in the trade. There is also a thread wondering if the Cubs have enough to get BRob and Bedard. Most of them think we probably don't have enough to get both BRob and Bedard. I tend to agree.
