I've never cared about hockey and have never had an allegiance to any team. Today I went to the pre-season finale between the Caps and Bruins in DC, and I am now officially a Caps fan. The game was intense, the crowd was fun, the action was good, there was a Guinness/Smithwick's/Harp booth right outside my seats, and this team will never ever be able to hurt me the way the Cubs just did. I'm sold. Sorry, I know it's the blackhawks thread - not trying to troll. Just new to hockey. Speaking of which, I have a few questions: Has overtime always been reduced to 4 on 4? Has penalty box time always ended if the power play team scores a goal? I could have sworn Nylander still had 36 seconds left in the box, and when the Bruins scored he was back on the ice. Is this a rule change? When did it happen? Do they still do multiple overtimes in the regular season or post-season, or do they always go to penalty shots after the first overtime?
