  1. One more run from the offense and this qualifies as a blowout. (That just seems so far away right now.)
  2. We're snakebit, dude. Lou blacked out, and when he came to, Izturis was starting and there was nothing he could do about it.
  3. Called it. I'm gonna go out on an even bigger limb and guess that Wednesday starts at midnight.
  4. And Weeks got through that on less pitches than hill, didn't he?? ](*,)
  5. The way this season has gone, that can only be a good thing.
  6. How many pitches was that? Also, how much longer before people start sacrificing their first-born in the name of Rich Hill?
  7. I hear that's common of serial killers right before they snap.
  8. I'm pretty tone deaf, but singer sounded really flat even to me.
  9. Personally, I'm hoping for: Riot Riot Barrett Ramirez Barrett DLee Ramirez Riot Hill With a few designated defenders for the top half of the inning.
  10. I don't know what you people are talking about. Not only did he pitch well in the playoffs for the WS winners, but he was also a Yankee. That makes him a proven winner who knows how to succeed at the highest level. His contract was completely worth the risk. Maybe we could get him in return for miller... /sarcasm, just in case
  11. Are you currently out at DLI? Third time here. I take it you're a veteran of the Drunken Lust Institute?
  12. Rich Hill throws a perfect game on 64 pitches, but the Cubs were penalized with a negative point when Ronny Cedeno followed his third HR of the season by running the bases backward and returning to the Brewers' dugout.
  13. "Something as obnoxious as the hot air from Carson Daly can cause the wind to blow in DLee's face half a country away." Or something. /going to bed now
  14. That would bump my total up from 25 to probably in the neighborhood of 28-30
  15. Just reminding myself that there's been something on this team to smile about so far.
  16. So you're trying to tell me that Estes didn't get there in '03?
  17. If only he had the grit and the scrap to play with heart and give it 110%, he'd be the best player in the league. Too bad he's just padding worthless stats during a 4-game losing streak. This wouldn't be happening if he were more like Jeter Christ.
  18. wow. I remember 9-11-01 But I remember 10-14-03, so it's fresher, and there have been many more painful reminders ever since. Those google ads are ruining 13 percent of every page, but would they be as bad if I didn't hate the Cubs so much? And Celine Dion's face is worse than her music. Stupid cancer with no cures. Man, I think I'm gonna have to sleep on this. Maybe you should ask in the off-season. EDIT - I've been in the AF for 8 yrs and I'm learning to speak the Taleban's language right now, so at least I feel like it's in my power to somehow take a small bite out of terrorism. Between shutting off the TV and changing the station, I can block out Celine Dion and Carson Daly. And getting premium or installing that firefox noscript thing takes care of the google ads. That leaves cancer and the Cubs in a class of their own. I had to go Cubs, based on how the question was asked.
  19. My first thought was about how good that OPS is. Then it dawned on me and I checked the stats to confirm.
  20. I couldn't stick around past the first inning. Aside from the Ramirez hr, I didn't miss anything and I'm glad I didn't sit through it. This is getting ridiculous.
  21. Pat just referred to Z as the ace, then clarified by adding on 'opening day starter.'
  22. Patience, runs, and nearly 30 pitches from the opposing starter, all in the first inning. Is this what Cubs' opponents normally feel like???
  23. This translated to top of the second inning runs. /too many trains at the other end of the tunnel
  24. WTG ARam. I'm not a big fan of the 3-0 greenlight though.
