  2. I'm down. Vote Hank White for All-Star catcher!!
  3. Someone remind again why Izturis is wasting a roster spot? RGIs, dude. He had one in that game! (Too bad we needed him to have 3 more.)

His avatar was removed and the posts discussing it were removed from whatever thread it was. (Once I got to his post, I forgot what the thread was about.)
  5. For some reason, this story is giving me some serious de ja vu - hopefully it's a very short term issue. I hope the Mariners don't end up going through the same thing with King Felix that we've gone through for three years. I wouldn't wish that on any team. Well, most teams. Definitely not Seattle.

Went with Wolf's, simply for reasons of longevity. Otherwise it's a coin toss.
  7. This makes me smile. Sammy doesn't hit HR much anymore, and he bombs one last night. He doesn't walk much anymore, and he draws one to be the only baserunner, short-lived as it was. I'd say his personal trip was a successful one.
  8. I won my first 2, then lost some scheduled starts and some spot starts - I think I ended up at 2-5. It was ugly. I'm 0-2 all time. Both were last year, and then I retired before I had to start any more. I nominate you Wade Miller's career advisor!
  9. If you want to show it's a farce, pick a player who sucks and is not popular. Ronny Cedeno perhaps. A much better idea, except if we're going to do this, it'd be best to pick based on which position would be easiest to push someone in. Would it be easier to go with an OFer?
  10. Props to Who?. Sox fans don't deserve it, but the guy deserves props. Definitely impressive.
  11. Voting this early certainly makes it impossible to believe it's anything other than a popularity contest. For how early it is, the only determination that can be made based on this year's performance is that Z won't make it this year. Pujols and his .160 BA probably still get in.
  12. Keep your optimism out of this. The Cubs are just becoming more creative in their losses. All that does is keep us interested longer. Last year I would have had no problem turning this game off in the top of the second. Now they're dragging it out over a 3.5-hr game. The losses still pile up the same way, but now I spend more time smashing my head against the wall in the process.
  13. Nothing. Coulda scored on a ground out and a WP. He sat there.
  14. 4G, 22IP, 25H, 19ER, 16BB, 6HR, 1.86 WHIP There's your #1 starter, nsbb.
  15. I give up. Stepping outside and hoping for a slow, painful death by lung cancer. Sounds more fun than this. $^#@$%&$^*#$%^#^@$%@$^#%^$%^
  16. Cedeno PR for Ward. Why do I have the feeling that will come back to bite? edit...@#$%@$%^#%^$%^

  18. in your wildest dreams, do you think that would ever happen? :( You're really depressing today, Cubs.
  19. He's got a clutch glove. He'll hit a Pierre and still notch two RGIs.
  20. If you were young enough to remember 1972, you'd be set to go :(
  21. If Sammy is due up, he breaks it up with a HR
  22. Touche. No curse, bad baseball. if you think it's just bad baseball you haven't been a cubs fan for long. bad baseball doesn't last 100 years. if you traded rosters with the Yankees and had them play in Chicago, they would win I'm starting to doubt that. I have never believed that to be true. I think a better example would be to have the Cardinals and Cubs switch rosters. There's not a chance in hell that all the breaks the Cards have caught over the years would have ever happened if those same people were in pinstripes.
  23. That's right, Buehrle's got a no-hitter going. He hasn't given up a single hit yet. Inning over. Finally.
