  1. a gander at the co-sign thread shows that it stops at 30 posts. No need to reinvent the wheel.
  2. But the Cubs have been solid this year interms of giving the lead back the following half inning.
  3. Is ARam okay?? I really hope he doesn't pull a Prior with a freaking base coach.
  4. Back when I smoked, and the few I know who do smoke, the place of preference to smoke was in a moving vehicle. I watched my younger brother light with one hand, hold the pipe with the other, steer with his left knee while pressing the clutch, and use his right knee to smack the gearshift from second to third. Most veteran potheads have NO trouble driving while lighting up, and in many cases doing something else in addition.
  5. Z really needs to not suck. Same goes for the offense. This whole thing where we've been winning lately is kinda nice. I'm in favor of it continuing.
  6. Waiting on good old youtube to come through again...
  7. Yea, I was happy to see that 4-spot from Pit. Let me just say how surreal it feels to be watching the Brewers on the scoreboard during an off day.
  8. awesome link, but think you meant this for another thread  Soon you thread nazis are going to want everything posted where it is being talked about and not in random threads in different forums. It disgusts me. I hear OMC and Sulley were debating again in Social/Rants. I call Shenanigans!
  9. I do agree with the rule. It gives both teams a fair chance to win. Absolutely a fair rule that probably should have been instigated long before this. I agree, though it DID prevent the Cubs from finding their most impressive way to lose yet this season.
  10. Next year, before the season starts, start a thread titled 8 over by May 1st. I wonder if there was one of those on the Brewers board a month ago.
  11. And like 7 home runs. I don't think this would be a very good exchange. Let's start hitting it over the fence instead of off it. As long as his doubles continue scoring runs, I could care less about his HR totals. He's on pace for 118 RBI and 124 runs in addition, and with his off-the-charts BA and an OPS a shade under 1.100, I would have no trouble with an off year HR-wise.
  12. I'm in class right now and missed this - what happened?? hit by pitch near the knee Thanks.
  13. I'm in class right now and missed this - what happened??
  14. In case we forgot from the previous 20 games, the Cubs showed us AGAIN. Thanks.
  15. I don't know, but if we see much more of that, his BA is sure to drop below .400. Bum.
  16. I never in a million years dreamed he would start off the season this hot (*crosses fingers*) I was going to say the same thing....At some point someone has to give Hendry a little credit for his pitching pick ups this off season...not yet...but at some point. If Marquis works out, I think the blind squirrel argument carries at least a little bit of merit, but if Lilly keeps producing, I think that is a find that ranks up there with Barrett.
  17. I hope you're young (like college age or younger)... you'll harden with time. If you're older than me, then you're screwed. yeah im a senior in college...i got two years of grad school that im hopin by the time im outta there im like my dad and happy when they lose but could care less if they lose and just come to terms with the fact that i root for the cubs It's understandable to be incapable of using the word "win" when describing the Cubs.
  18. If Wuertz/Dempster pitch in the first game, would they be available for the second? If not, I say give Rich Hill a little work in the first game (forgive me for not trusting the bullpen with a 1-run lead) and save the others for the second.
  19. The same three points that Armas just shaved off his ERA are going to get tacked on to Snell's ERA the very next day. Eh, who am I kidding. Snell will lose three points off his ERA too.
  20. Since Rich Hill started on Monday, isn't Wednesday supposed to be his throw day? Any chance we see him "start" tomorrow?
  21. oooh, good question! I would think that separate threads would be easier to manage from the persepctive of the thread starter.
  22. It can't be called I can't say I'm a fan of this rule, but then again, I can't really decide what I would think if the situation was reversed. I generally operate under the assumption that baseball doesn't need any new rules. That's not a result of any new rule, is it? In the past the home team always got to bat in the bottom of the inning if the visitors were winning before the game could be called, IIRC. From the sounds of things, in the past it would have reverted to the last full inning and the Cubs probably would have lost already. I definitely like the new rule. After the 5th inning, no runs should come off the board.
  23. The way the rules quoted earlier looked, if Pitt doesn't score in the 7th, and the game goes into the 8th and the Cubs don't score again, and a rain delay comes in middle of the 8th, a called game would be an official game.
