  1. That's the scary part. I find it hard to believe they can win serveral games in a row, to even make a run at it. I'm still having a hard time believing that two weeks ago, I was on the same boat, and now I'm pissed because they have another off day. I used to look forward to off days as reprieves from losing.
  2. Crazy Talk. After spending the last year in Cali, I must say I agree with Exile. The food at In n Out really isn't that good, especially considering there are like 4 things on the menu. I've been to 4 different locations a total of 6 or 7 times in the last 3 months, and I'm done giving them chances. I've been thoroughly disappointed every time. Good old Jack with his bacon ultimate cheeseburgers and curly fries and 24-hr access to both breakfast and lunch menus comes through every time.
  3. Prediction: Kearns GIDP on a 2-2 pitch.
  4. Lou gives it quite a bit too, and I am never a fan. I wonder how the Cubs are hitting on 3-0 counts this year.
  5. If by deep you mean not out of the IF, you'd be right. Deep is a relative term. The dugout is below the level of the playing field, so one could say that is deep. /eh, I tried.
  6. I don't know, only REALLY good food would ever make me slap my momma...
  7. I think that means he's perfect so far...
  8. who dosent? Me. The player yes, the dessert no. I hate the desert. You can put anything in a pie. I don't understand how somenone could not like all pie unless they hate food in general Maybe some people think pie crust is disgusting. (P.S. I guess the dessert and the player are interchangeable in that sentence, but it's kinda gross to think about.)
  9. That AB brings DLEE!!!'s average up to around .842
  10. I agree, Ryan definitely looked flabbergasted and befuddled.
  11. Shhh, don't jinx it!!! If we say it from the beginning does it count as jinxing? If Guzman doesn't throw a perfect game, then I think it does.
  12. 8 games ago they played the the team who won the WS last year, i would consider the cards a good team despite their recent struggles Gotta wave the flag here. Cards are NOT a good team. Neither were the Cubs for most of April. That said, I don't care who the Cubs beat. I care that the Cubs beat them. I'll remain cautiously optimistic because of the quality of recent opponents. However, if they win a lot of games through the end of May, with their opponents being PHI, Mets, WSox, Padres, Dodgers, and Marlins, with one scheduled off day in that time, then I'm making my plans for Cubs baseball in Oct--Okay, I won't go that far, but it would be totally sweet.
  13. Yea same here. I spent a few seconds staring at the subject wondering how it could be possible. Then I wondered if I still knew how to read. /cinco de mayo, 3am... nuff said.
  14. Another beautiful day, another Cubs game missed to skydiving. Prediction: Hill - 7IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 9K Offense: 19H, 13R HR: Lee (twice), Sori, Barebare Enjoy the game everyone. Go Cubs!!
  15. I think it just means that we're abusing our pitchers less than any other team in the NL. I bet after 27 games last year under Dusty, the team had like TWICE the IP.
  16. I'm expecting at least 3R, 4BB, 6H, and 5K in no more than 6IP.
  17. Also, I thought the offense was designed with the idea that they were hoping to be middle of the pack OBP and top five in SLG. All those people who were saying the offense would come around if they pulled that off appear to be right. As far as the IP, the Cubs are tied with the Cardinals for last in the NL in games played, so I would imagine that's really the only explanation.
  18. Uh oh, Kearns and his 1.000 OPS absolutely OWN Rich Hill. /absent from statistics class on Sample Size day.
  19. This is true, but it's also true that the Brewers are on pace to finish 29 games ahead of the Cubs.
  20. The current three-game win streak includes being down 4-0 in the first, being down 5-2 in the seventh, and HRs from Sori (twice!), Jones, Floyd, and DLee. The Cubs have also had 3 off days in the last week and a half. I haven't enjoyed Cubs baseball this much since last april!
  21. can't imagine why, given our lights-out closer and our stellar record in close games Actually Dempster was a very shaky closer last year and far from lights-out. Also our record is one run games is actually 0-6, no where near stellar. In fact you could say its the exact opposite of stellar Again.....sarcasm. I know, I was poking fun at the previous lack of sarcasm detection ;) I don't think you were. He was all "our lights out closer and stellar record" and you were all "shakey closer and actually 0-6", like you DIDNT know it was a joke!! Ha ha ha!! /stretching for the Zoolander reference
