  1. Two outs, bases juiced, Jones and Koyie Hill due up and they both drive in two runs. Time to buy a few lotto tickets.
  2. Kojock 2-out RBI single
  3. I'm hoping whoever called the JJ homer today gets proven right in about 10 seconds. :yea right:
  4. Hit and run on full count with a guy who hasn't hit his way out of a paper bag in two weeks. Smart.
  5. This is pretty sound advice, Cobs. You should do it.
  6. Ron: I may have pinch hit with the Cubs once or twice, but I don't remember ever doing it. Pat: Cory Provost is handing me a note here, which says that Ron Santo, in his career, appeared as a pinch hitter 982 times. I'm surprised you don't remember any one of them, Ron.
  7. He'll get through the next 5 innings on about 55 more.
  8. Thank you for getting out of that, Z.
  9. No Lee, Ramirez, or Bonds, and two pitchers with an ERA in the 3's. I think one run might be enough today.
  10. Current predicament notwithstanding, Marmol has proven everything he needs to. Besides, we already have Scott Eyre. That's as proven as it gets.
  11. I donno about that atleast in this situation I think it has more to do with Zito being good than Soriano struggling. Following that AB, Soriano is a career 5 of 39 against Zito.
  12. Thanks for tying it up, Cobs. Now please don't let this offense put up any more against you.
  13. honestly...time for a mass suicide. who's with me? Pass the kool-aid.
  14. Ramirez, the defensive liability, didn't hustle at all on that play.
  15. Lots of warning track outs for the Giants tonight.
  16. How the hell did that happen?! Cubs are supposed to be on the defensive side of those kinds of plays.
  17. For real. Earlier in the season there was like 25 page game threads for the whole game. I just took a quick gander back around last August, and the game threads were ranging between 11 and 15 pages. Weren't there a couple of Saturday threads that were 3 or 4 pages in Premium? I don't have premium, but yea I wouldn't be surprised. Only the true gluttons for punishment and unbelievably obsessive stat-heads, Fred, were still around. Most of the rest of us enjoyed not jumping off of tall buildings.
  18. For real. Earlier in the season there was like 25 page game threads for the whole game. I just took a quick gander back around last August, and the game threads were ranging between 11 and 15 pages.
  19. Theriot's on the radio saying he had the green light the whole time during the 8th last night and that it wasn't a hit and run, so to credit Lou for that play is misplaced.
  20. If 97 wins were to happen, given all the talk of the current streak simply 'evening things out' after the first two months of the season, the way to then 'even things out' would be for the Cubs to lose the first two playoff games by so many runs that the mercy rule is invoked and the other team is awarded a 2-game sweep. Either that or Milwaukee and StL both win 98 games.
  21. If that's what it takes to get Eyre off the team, eat as much of Eyre's salary as necessary/possible and jump on it. If the potential deal keeps Eyre as a Cub, I don't really see the point of doing anything at all to the bullpen.
