When Pittsburgh did well against the Brewers right before the break, they apparently turned over a brief, week-long new leaf, as they took two of three from the Cubs right after that. Hopefully the Reds are worse than the Pirates, at least in that regard.

Also, Pittsburgh posted a 5-spot in the 6th and lead the Mets 5-2 in the 7th.

For the first time ever, I really hope WGN carries at least one of these Sox games. The entertainment value increases tenfold if the Sox get hammered in any of those games. Steve Stone's ability to discuss good baseball, regardless of which team is playing it, should push Hawk even farther over the edge.

If Shelley Duncan and a kicker aren't what the Reds are looking for in return for Dunn, I can't imagine the Cubs having what they want. Duncan seems exactly the type of player they should be seeking. -
Hopefully Jeff Suppan is the answer to what ails their offense. Just like good old Kip Wells coming to the rescue for the slumping Cubs offense... #-o

GARWILLY... THAT HAPPENED TO ME LAST OFFSEASON. I STARTED SENDING 1908 AND TIM AN EMAIL EVERY DAY UNTIL TIM FINALLY GOT BACK TO TWO MONTHS LATER. Happened to me also and I e-mailed Tim and other admin's for a week or so and got no reply. I finally had to IM Tim and got back online. It was a password problem. I updated my email address the other day without knowing that it would deactivate me and send me a reactivation link that, of course, didn't work. Mark_R was the only person whose IM screenname I had, so I kept refreshing the active users list and pestering him to bombard various mods/admin with PMs until I could get back in. I got back in the same night, about four hours later. Cubs should give serious consideration to winning again.

The decision to go could very well have been at least as much Theriot's as Lou's. On a pregame show after a hit and run that proved to win it for the Cubs, Theriot said it wasn't a called hit and run, he just always had the green light and happened to choose that one to run.
