  1. No, but I'm willing to bet that the GW double will come up again before the end of the season.
  2. I'm gonna call a Jason Kendall in-the-park HR (or any combination of errors which result in him reaching home from the batter's box)
  3. I just got home on lunch. I turn on the radio, and the first thing I hear is Lilly finishing up the 1-2-3 inning. Next, I pull up transactions. Cesar. Enough said. By the time I read that, Sori doubles. I come over here to post the celebration, and then the bunt throw away. The last four minutes currently stand as the best four minutes of the week. And Ward doubles. Life is good. 8-)
  4. How can you NOT love this guy (unless you're abuck)? awesome
  5. I'll pretty much need to hear a live Hendry interview stating this, or at least a cubs.com front page story before I'll buy it. It's way too good to be worth getting my hopes up over.
  6. I was going to guess 2/5, but since it was also pointed out that this is the blanco special, no way he gets less than 3/15.
  7. Haven't we beat you 4 of 6? Didn't Kyle Loshe throw 8 shutout innings and K you 12 times? I don't remember the specific numbers, but the Cubs had plenty of success against the Cards last year. That didn't change the fact that the Cubs stunk and the Cards... well, you know. Speaking of Cards, what's with Kip Wells pitching 8 innings of 2-hit ball against the Marlins? Is the Marlins' offense really that bad?
  8. Or the same feeling I get when I see Corey Hart, JJ Hardy, and Ryan Braun hit homer after homer. You're kidding right. Hart and Braun, in particular, are top-flight prospects who mashed throughout the minors. Braun hitting a home run for them is like A Ram hitting a home run for us. That doesn't make it any less obnoxious. Hating on the first place team is not something that requires rational thought. agreed on the rational thought, but still the 7 rbi days from miller are really hard to handle compared to hart and braun hitting Home Runs The Brewers being any good is hard to handle too.
  9. Before the game, you know that the Cubs will have two players who combine for 3 for 4, 2BB, 2R, and 7RBI. Quick show of hands of who here would have predicted this is Jock Jones and Koyie Hill. :crickets:

  11. so apparently catcher's ERA is not a bogus stat! Not at all. In fact, we need to adopt catcher's W-L records and implement a catcher's CYA every season.
  12. All of a sudden, Ramirez having the day off has become a brilliant move too.
  13. Cubs bat for 35 minutes, play defense for less than 4, then go back to batting from the top of the order. Life is good 8-)
  14. Yea, he probably could have stayed in one more, but with Lilly going tomorrow and the Giants being the Giants, it's a relatively safe bet that the bullpen won't get a whole lot of work, so giving them the extra inning today should be fine.
  15. We handed that game to them with those 7 BB. Nonsense. It was ALL Kendall. The 7 BB's had nothing to do with the loss. Of course the 7BB had something to do with the loss, but you're forgetting that those BBs can also be placed squarely on the shoulders of Kendall, whose game-calling abilities have obviously been way over-hyped.
  16. In all seriousness when things like this start to happen you know you are in for a special year. I think we're forgetting how bad the Giants are. But yes, this is still freaking weird.
  17. I think I'll sit on his doorstep and inject heroin into my forehead. It's been a while since anyone has done that to Cub leadership.
  18. Mine to  Z out 3 unassisted My gf likes Bob Howry. We both agree that Mark Derosa resembles Dane Cook.
  19. Yea, I'm definitely buying that lotto ticket. Holy crap.
  20. Bases juiced for Koyie Hill. Bases clearing double. Or grand slam. Put it down.
  21. Are you ready for this? Bases juiced, 2 out for Jones, who immediately falls behind 0-2. A few pitches later, he pounds a 2-run single off the glove of Klesko, and he then scored from first on Koyie Hill's 2-run double the next AB. No, I'm not joking. Bet you never thought you'd ever give a re-cap like that, huh? That's why I jumped all over the reply - I wanted to see if my fingers were actually capable of typing it all out.
