  1. I was just going to comment on that. This is the most buzz I remember hearing from the crowd all season.
  2. Can we get a story? When I'm not in the office, yes. Hahaha you know how that goes... still waiting :stick:What he said.
  3. Hopefully the last 8 games provides hope that DLee can get that power back. Seeing him go yard to the opposite field today is certainly encouraging. His GS against the White Sox was the other way, and of his relatively few HRs this year, I'm almost positive at least 3 or 4 have gone to right. I remember there being a chart to show who has hit HRs to which part of the field and how far, but I didn't bookmark the page or the thread. I'm pretty sure it will show his relatively small number of HRs relatively evenly split between LF and RF.
  4. I think it's more like 5-6+ games under .500 since the recent Cubs streak. if we go by the June 3 date that everyone keeps throwing around, they're actually 2 over 500 I thought it was closer to this. It can hardly be classified as choking to play barely over .500 while watching your lead shrink from 8.5 to 1.5 (or 0.5?? ). Obviously the Brewers haven't been as hot, but the Cubs took it upon themselves to close the gap. At the start of that stretch, the Cubs were also major underachievers in terms of XW-L, so if there's any choke job to talk about, it's the Cubs prior to 3 June.
  5. well just so long as it wasnt completely unnecessary, wait even if it was completely unnecessary, who cares?Besides, I'm sure the thread starter enjoyed digging up pics for this thread much more than he would have enjoyed sitting through the last hour and a half of that "game" last night.
  6. I have no idea who the other guy is, but this is clearly addition by subtraction. I was really hoping to see Ballfour get a chance to turn things around for Milwaukee (and watch his ERA approach 57.31 in the process).
  7. I have no idea how/what the Bears are doing, because, thankfully, the Cubs have held my interest past the end of May. If they continue to keep the baseball season interesting, I won't be paying attention to anything Bears until about week 8 of the regular season 8-)
  8. Please win, before this whole thing returns to ridiculous.
  9. Unflipping real. :wall: ](*,) :wall: ](*,)
  10. I think Fontenot PH for him that inning. Ron saying Jock would have been out anyway. Freel is easily the player of the game.
  11. I do. Heart of the order in the tenth, and Eyre and Ohman have both been used already.
  12. Now it's up to... Jason Kendall? Crap.
  13. KoJock can go a loooong way to redeeming the entire first half with a base hit here. If he HRs, I officially forgive him for everything.
  14. DeRosa is a stud. PLEASE do something good here...
  15. It's no 2-run HR, but it's a start. C'mon, Floyd.
  16. ??? I think this team got hacked They did, in early June. Tech support only just now got around to fixing the problem, so now we're seeing what we're supposed to.
  17. The only reason I haven't shut this game off yet is because of how crappy the Reds' bullpen is, but go figure we won't see them tonight with freaking 4-11 4.75 Bronson Arroyo mystifying our hitters beyond recognition. This freaking blows. PLEASE get us someone who can hit the freaking ball, JH.
  18. Yes, they'd really call it. That's exactly what the rule calls for, assuming the rain persists all night. how did the yanks/os game get suspended? they started in the 8th tonight. was that rain or what was the reason they suspended that game? And remember the suspending game in Pittsburgh earlier this year? Being the first game of the series, I can't imagine they'd just call it. The Cubs were the road team and ahead in the middle of an inning I believe. That's why it was suspended If I remember the rule correctly, it was the fact that they took the lead in the same inning it was called. If it had been that score for a few innings with no lead change, they would have ended it in the top of the inning.

And remember the suspending game in Pittsburgh earlier this year? Being the first game of the series, I can't imagine they'd just call it. If the Cubs hadn't scored four runs to take the lead in the top of the inning that game got called, it would have been game over, Cubs lose. Taking the lead without giving Pitt a chance to retake it in the bottom of the inning was the reason they suspended that one.

  21. with no runs, a hit, two walks, and five k's. Sounds pretty Zambrano-like.
