    I went with ace. Yea, this team has experienced some issues with offense, especially with the power numbers, but I think pitching will turn out to be more of an issue. Hill and Marshall and Marquis can all be good, but they can all crap the bed on any given day. I think it's more realistic to add a bat, and Ithink it will do wonders for the team as well, but I think a bonafide number 2 starter would do this team much better than hitting would.

    Mom is over here right now, and we were talking about all your worthless stats. She recommended that I point out that in games played during a lunar eclipse, the Red Sox are 1-0 in games that decide the winner of the World Series. Just in case you didn't know.

    We had a beer fest in monterey and I made it a poitn to get there early so I could learve there early and watch the cubs game. I was pretty concerned after yesterday, but Lilly was a stud and the offense was fearking awesone. CUBS WIN!!! CUBS WIN!!!

    So I know the Cubs have still been enjoying the best record since the third of June, but I'm still firmly in the "I don't believe" camp. Starting pitching has been inconsistent from everyone except the guy who was our worst pitcher for the first two months, and this offense is not going to be anywhere near enough as is to make up for the pitching being so shaky. Everyone says if we just trade for ss/impact bat/corner OF/SP, we're on our way, but easy schedule or not, there are too many holes to keep this team from being consistent right now, and until the day that at least one impact player is signed to fill one, I don't see this season ending well.

    I was just about to commend the Cubs on coming back to eliminate the lead right after giving up those two runs. I guess now I'll commend Marquis for being so prompt about reminding us that this is the Cubs.

    They're trying to give us a runner at third with no one out. That's a far cry from giving us an actual run. But yea, I'll take it. Come on, sori, do something with this.

    I really hope the fact that it's a free preview explains the presence of the commercials. If it's a permanent fixture from now on, this could very well be the last season I pay for this. If they're broadcasting advertisements, why the hell are they charging me a dime?
