Graffanino grounds out 5-3 to and top 6th, still 5-3 Bucs. All three outs that inning came by way of Jack Wilson.

LaRoche doubles off the wall, just missed his 3rd HR in two days. I seriously hope he cools off as quickly as he heated up.

4-3 going to the bottom of the 5th. Trainers came out to check on Gorzelanny that inning. Apparently he came up weird after a pitch, but he told them he was okay. He then proceeded to serve up some extra basese to Corey Hart, so who knows. Hopefully he really is okay.

The Brewers are something like 19-32 (approximately) all time at PNC. I can definitely understand why you would grow to hate that place under those circumstances, especially considering how bad the Pirates have been since PNC opened. Inning over, 4-0 and of 3rd.

Base hit up the middle, 4-0 Pirates! It either kicked off Sheets' foot or it skipped off the mound. You Kerr just said that the Pirates' defense has played 100 consecutive innings without committing a fielding error :shock:

Xavier Nady doubled off the top of the wall - he missed going back-to-back by about two feet.

I think the reason for their bad play this week is that they are bad at defense. All offenses slow down sometimes during the season, and I think it's giving the Cubs too much credit (and not giving enough credit to the Pirates' pitching) to say that the series in Chicago is what slowed them down, especially considering how they responded to blowing that 5-run lead by winning 13-4 the next day. La Roche didn't suck just now!!! 2-run shot, 3-0 Pirates!!

They also said they didn't carry him off the field, but he needed help getting back to the clubhouse.

I'm pulling up Bob Eucker (sp?), and he's saying he either landed hard on his heel (wtf? maybe he jarred himself coming down?) or rolled his ankle going to the wall during the HR. They don't know how serious it is yet.

Hysterical. Maybe this is the birth of a new defensive shift Lou can put into effect until Hill gets this new third pitch down.

I'm predicting the two teams combine for three runs scored. Hopefully the Cubs can come up with at least two of them. -
