  1. Z tried to walk the pitcher after going 0-2. That was much more intense than I would have liked.
  2. He was probably traded for A rod. A very likely probability.
  3. Ron says he may have seen DeRosa limping a little. In other news. I love leadoff doubles.
  4. Kennedy sees more pitches in his AB than the first three Cubs combined. I'm shocked.
  5. The day off and the return of Derrek Lee pay quick dividends for the Cubs I see.
  6. For how cheap Kendall came, I really don't think it's possible for him to have been a waste of money. It was worth it to take the chance, even if he really does turn out to be a flop.
  7. Now he's going to be an everyday leadoff hitter whose goal is to lean into every pitch possible. His batting stance will now straddle home plate. He WILL get the HBP record.
  8. Yes, but without those annual crushing lows, he wouldn't be able to appreciate the good things in life. He needs to know disappointment if he's ever going to know true happiness. Yea... When the Cubs finally win the World Series, their fans will experience a euphoria that could very well be better than most/all other championship teams, and our grandchildren's grandkids will thank us for that.
  9. After a few hours of continuous browsing, I think my favorite thing about premium so far is the increased number of threads and posts displayed. The power to ignore is nice, but I'm not really inspired to use it yet, and I like my avatar and sig, so I don't know if I will continue to block those from loading. Oh, and I also like this guy :pukel:
  10. The one they lost this century actually counts as like fifty.
  11. Since Cedeno has been tearing it up for so long without getting the call, I'm seriously hoping that such impressive numbers so high up in the system are going to make a heavy kicker in a deal that brings a coveted and solid bat of more than a Church/Stairs caliber to the team.
  12. I'm hoping by then every single decent bat and arm on the team has been traded for spare parts. I hope Griffey hits 7 HR in that series... A-Rod, too. :D \m/ :rockon!!: \m/
  13. I'm hoping by then every single decent bat and arm on the team has been traded for spare parts. I hope Griffey hits 7 HR in that series...
  14. This was my first thought. Unless your baby likes beer.
  15. I went WS loss, but I think that the Young/Peavy combo is going to be very tough to take down in a short series, so if the playoffs are in the Cubs' future, hopefully someone else takes care of them in the NLDS, because I would hate to see the Cubs have to try.
  16. I hope Bonds hits 3 HR against the Braves tonight. At his current pace of zero HR against the rest of the league and two per start against the Cubs, that will make getting tickets in a few weeks that much more difficult. He needs to break the record or break his leg soon, as long as there's no mystery for the Cubs series.
  17. I've got a concern or two about the rotation as well as the bullpen, but I really can't fathom JH spending much effort on anything other than offensive upgrade, and an upgrade which does not take speed into consideration. Starters will have bad outings and relievers will blow leads. Looking at what the Cubs have done this year and what the options are for upgrade, standing pat in those two areas is easily the best choice. A quick look at the available lineup combinations should be enough to scare anyone into making a huge push at a true impact bat or two.
  18. Freaking Braun. ](*,)
  19. The Devil Rays are beating the Yankees 9-0 at the end of the 6th. Holy crap.
  20. Count me in the camp that's not too big on the idea. No real reason, and the arguments in support are fine, I just don't like it. (There ya go, Banedon.)
  21. I saw the replay a while ago and thought it was pretty amusing how he came to a complete stop before leaving the batter's box. I like that the Cubs hit homeruns sometimes now.
  22. Brewers fans are actually saying pretty much this entire post about us, and I think there's a valid case for both sides.
  23. Probably not. Cubs and Brewers both finish with at least 92 wins this year.
