Had to go look this up - 2001 is the only time that even the top two records came out of the same division. That was the year the A's finished 14 games back with a record of 102-60. 2001, 2007, and 2009* are the only times in the WC era that the top three records even came out of the same league. 2001 Sea 116-46 Oak 102-60 Yankees 95-65 2007 Cle 96-66 Bos 96-66 NYY 94-68 LAA 94-68 2009* NYY 103-59 LAA 97-65 Bos 95-67 *LAD tied for 3rd, so 2009 only sorta counts. -
The Pirates have overtaken the Royals, and now the Cubs are a game away from having the third best record in MLB, while also being third in their division. I'm willing to bet that would be a first in the 6-division format.

Yes it's their new high mark. They were 22 over on 25 Aug, and they are now 7-6 since then.

That would never happen somewhere like here. Somewhere like here isn't full of people who get paid actual money to analyze baseball, so it's okay when we complain with our fan biases or compare Schwarber to Babe Ruth. (Oh yeah, these guys are also saying Foltynewicz = young Nolan Ryan.)

Braves post-game: umpiring was a key to the game. This was one of those unfortunate games where the umpiring had s little too much to do with the outcome. Spent a full 90 seconds complaining about umpiring before giving rizzo "credit where credit is due."
