Closed the computer and have been watching the game with the family. Catching up: 1) Stfu, Buck and Smoltz. There is no controversy over the Gonzalez out at the plate. By the time his hand actually touched the plate, it was unclear whether or not the tag had been (awesomely) applied to his jaw. 2) I can't believe Zobrist got waved home. 3) ADDY DONG!!!!! 4) [expletive] Rizzo almost dong'd/[expletive] Rizzo should have walked/DONGDONGDONGDONG!!!!!! 5)No Horseface, we're not horsefeathering kidding you. The best way to blow a 5-run lead is to spot them baserunners with no one out. We're carrying a lefty-heavy bullpen for a reason. 6) Thank you for holding them to 2 runs, Monty. 7) After 5 more insurance runs, I have officially gone from throwing myself off a cliff to 100% confidence in winning this series. Tyler Perry's Maeda gets shelled tomorrow while Lester shines, and Kershaw's postseason mystique is shattered. Cubs in 6.

I'm not ready for this season to be over. This season has been too amazing to end the same way the last 3 post seasons did. The Cubs owe it to all that is beautiful and magical about baseball to fix this thing and go to Cleveland.

Cubs haven't scored since Saturday, but I'm excited to see all that postseason experience on the mound pay off tonight.

Went to bed after the 6th. I watched every inning of the NLDS but didn't have the stomach to get through last night. Glad I got the extra hour of sleep.

Only about one in 20 minutes at work was dedicated to being productive today. The rest was spent finding the other Cubs fans in the building and talking about how nervous we are and needing God Mode Jake back and wtf Rizzo/Russell and omgomgomgomg I hope they all dong everywhere. Why does 45 minutes feel like such a long time?

Walking around Phoenix this weekend covered in Cubs swag, I've been pleasantly surprised at the number of people who stop to have a 30 second conversation about how excited they are about the Cubs. The down side is the number of times people talk about that stupid horsefeathersing curse.

I muted this game after the 8th inning, and it was suddenly much easier to watch. Hard to tell if it was because Smoltz and Vasgersian finally STFU'd, or if it was because of all the runs and the winning and the champagne and the magic. Toss up.
