  1. He's worried about someone pooping in his spot again.
  2. Good block by Wieters, who has never had a ball stick to his chest protector.
  3. This is one of the Dusty-est things I've heard all week.
  4. Pregame warmups tell us nothing. No way Nats pitching holds the Cubs to 54 dongs today.
  5. Now Kluber has gotten touched up in consecutive post season starts 8-)
  6. I just remembered how much I hate Daniel Murphy.
  7. I've been waiting all week for the playoffs to start, and now that it's gameday, suddenly all I can think about is wishing Fred were still around for all this. I went back through this thread and read everything you guys put up here. Thanks again to everyone who posted. All the grownups from my childhood proved to be just regular people with regular flaws, who created some form of letdown as I lost my innocence and began to grasp what it means to be human. Fred was always different. The Fred I remember as a kindergartner turned out to be the same person, all the way until last September, and the same person everyone here knew. In the year since then, it's been dawning on me how unique that is.
  8. Greetings from lovely Evans, GA! The CUBS are 5-1 in their last 6 rounds of postseason play. Go CUBS !!
  9. Spring training sucks. Can't wait for the season to start.
  10. Got my rejection notice today. Didn't realize they were sending those.
  11. Until last night's win starts getting mixed into this year's WS champs montages, I gotta go with ARam. That homerun might be one of my favorite regular season moments of all time.
  12. Contributing to this conversation feels like a thread derail, but discussing the White Sox in a thread called The Cubs Stink is actually remarkably on topic... I remember one day in 7th grade, after hearing Fred use the phrase "a good White Sox is a dead White Sox," I went around asking my friends if they were White Sox fans or Cubs fans, just to make sure I was surrounding myself with the right kind of people. Being young and dumb never affected my moral compass when it came to Chicago baseball.
  13. Watching the Fox Sports SE broadcast, listening to Chip Carey. Whoever's in the booth with him went on a strange tangent that half inning about how Ian Happ just goes up there twisting away trying to hit everything 9 miles, but in today's game, that's acceptable anymore. (Then Happ strikes out.) That's the only other option if he doesn't send one onto the streets. There's no in between. No in between. I wonder how that will play in the playoffs when he has to face better pitching than he has most of the year. Very odd rant.
  14. The CUBS are allowing 3.2 runs per first inning since April 17th. Go CUBS !!
  15. That is some seriously shady ish. Put the asterisk next to his CERA.
