  1. Cubs are on wgn, and I'm not working or up to my eyeballs in screaming kids. My last chance to hate life today is watching a cubs game.
  2. Already did, this was the counter-offer.
  3. Should I give up Kinsler to get Matt Moore and Jason Kipnis? Other players on his roster: Rutledge, lowrie, Darvish, and Matt Harvey. I've got Castro and Zobrist as my other middle infield options, and my SP situation was bleak even before Cueto got hurt.
  4. DeJeebus dbl off the wall, moved to third on SF from Castro, groundout RBI from rizzo.
  5. How many more chances will he get at this?
  6. A least he got to the point and didn't drag it out by walking in a run on 25 pitches, so I guess there's that.
  7. Can't wait to watch marmol nail this one down.
  8. Thank you dez Bryant, Andre Johnson, drew brees, and Seahawks d/st. And to Bryce brown - I made the playoffs only because his flash in the pan was two weeks long.
  9. Had Arizona d/st. Dropped them in favor of Seattle. 44-pt difference between the two all but guarantees I make it to the final round.
  10. I don't know that I could ever bench Brees. I definitely can't. Once I came to peace with that reality, I flipped RG3 for Ray Rice.
  11. I too want more details on this No, it's more like everyone plays everyone each week. So we have a 12 team league and do an offline draft. Use CBSSportsline. Then every week it is 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1, etc. We have a $175 entry fee and pay out $40/$20/$10 each week for 1st-3rd. Points are also kept overall and we pay 1st-4th at the end of the year. It is great, it keeps everyone involved through Week 17, because even if your team sucks you could still win a week and get money back. It also prevents people from getting pissed they had the 2nd or 3rd most points that week but were playing the 1st best team. At the risk of outing myself as an idiot, I need to ask for more details on your math there. When you do an offline draft, is the League Manager responsible for entering all twelve rosters into the system? I'm not following the 1 vs 1 vs 1 thing - is that a type of setting offered by CBSSportsLine, or is that something which requires more hand-jamming from the LM? I manage an ESPN league, and my two options were Points (or Roto?) and Head-to-Head. It sounds like this system tries to compromise between the two.
  12. Career OPS+/bWAR for some players named in Mitchell Report: Jose Guillen: 99/3.4 Fernando Vina: 89/10.7 Marvin Benard: 97/7.3 Randy Velarde: 101/22.8 Mark Carreon: 108/4.0 Jack Cust: 120/7.7 Lenny Dykstra: 120/41.0 David Segui: 110/7.8 Mo Vaughn: 132/24.5 RonDL White: 108/25.5 Miguel Tejada: 109/42.3 Brian roberts: 102/26.3 There are way more players who used than we will ever know about, and the spectrum of players covers from the super-stars to the minor leagues. For every Bonds/Sosa/Clemens/McGwire/etc, there will be 50+ of the above. There's no argument that justifies keeping 182/158.1 out of the HOF.
  13. So at the end of week 1 in a 10-team league, the 2nd-highest scoring team has an 8-1 record? Mind-blowing. What site do you go through for that?
  14. In my PPR league (having an awful season), I need RG3 to out-score Hakeem Nicks by 10 tonight in order to end the season on a winning streak and shoot up to 9th place out of 14.
  15. Take the top 3. Yeah, Brown vs the Boys isn't a good matchup Talked myself into benching Nicks instead. Brown+Bryant overcame a 46-point deficit, and I snuck into the last playoff spot.
  16. I need three: Andre Johnson Des Bryant Hakeem Nicks Bryce Brown
  17. Gore. I'd go McFadden.
  18. I was happy getting Andrew Hawkins and TJ Graham this week in my 14-team league. Considering Khalil Bell now too.
  19. I left Austin on the bench in favor of Nicks and Bryant. Should have drafted Ogletree instead, who knew.
  20. I missed my draft in a 14-team, keeper, PPR league. My keeper from last year is Ray Rice. I knew I would miss, so I created my own pre-draft rankings and strategy to personalize the auto-draft as much as possible, and I wound up with: QB Cutler RB Rice RB McFadden WR AJ Green WR Colston RB/WR Ben Tate TE Fred Davis D/ST Cardinals K Kaeding BENCH Isaac Redman DHB Alex Smith Matt Flynn Mike Goodson Dustin Keller Bernard Scott I dropped Matt Flynn already for Devery Henderson, but I'm definitely pleased with this for an auto-draft team.
  21. Last year it gave me around a 65% chance in both my leagues, and I made the finals in both. Maybe you can go through and find the best and worst teams in your league and see what it says about them.
  22. That article is a great argument for electronic- or laser-enforced strike zones imo.
  23. If shutting him down like this actually ends up being the decision Washington goes with, do they even try to get him activated before May next season? I can appreciate the concept of protecting the future of the team's rotation, but there's definitely an element of saving Zambrano for game 4 that I really don't like about the idea.
