  1. Awesome.
  2. No talk of the realingment?
  3. Well at least Ponder looked really good today. Terrible decision early and got baited into an INT on a CB freelancing in cover-2 on the final drive. In the middle he was pretty awesome for having only 1 real WR and no Adrian against a good defense.
  4. I haven't seen an Iowa game yet this year. Has Basabe developed? Developed into a walk-on. He's been horrible, truly horrible. He doesn't rebound anymore, doesn't get any garbage points, doesn't play defense, can't score and won't pass. He, Cartwright and May have been awful and are why Iowa is as bad as they are right now. Yikes. He was one of my favorite non-Purdue guys to watch last year. He's obviously got the tools. The last 4 games he has 8 total points on 4-16 shooting with 11 boards in 67 minutes.

  6. Oh and sorry again Big Ten.
  7. Everyone on this team except for McCabe and Gatens (excluding tonight) has taken a big step backwards this year. They're awful right now.
  8. Mbakwe's loss will wreck Minnesota. It also reduces the B1G's chances vs. the ACC but we should still win.
  9. Mbakwe left with a knee injury according to various tweets it didn't look good and he was in major pain.
  10. Posted in the other thread but for Illinois Leach would be at the top of my list, then Chryst and Sumlin.
  11. If I'm Illinois I'm calling Leach immediately and then going with Chryst and Sumlin as the next two.
  12. That's just silliness.
  13. Hey Nebraska, [expletive] you again.
  14. Sports continue to suck.
  15. Holy [expletive] Missouri.
  16. [expletive] Nebraska.
  17. Well defensively they're a total mess right now. Cartwright isn't good defensively but was even worse being sick and they made a killing beating him with the dribble and then we overhelped which led to wide open corner 3's and layups. Didn't hurt that they shot the lights out too. Offensively I thought Iowa was fine, they just couldn't make anything. That was a total bummer but doesn't change all that much with my outlook as of now. Two more cupcakes then we get another real game with Clemson next Tuesday.
  18. Why would you be surprised at that?
  19. Iowa players were celebrating until they realized they had to go back to the state of Iowa, even though they won. Hey we can't all be lucky enough to live in West Lafayette.
  20. Well now, that's obviously not true. Sarcasm. The new B1G format made Iowa and Purdue protected rivals.
  21. As I've always said, I don't care what kind of season we have as long as we beat those [expletive] rivals from Purdue, I'll be happy.
  22. Ha, well, we didn't even have the same top-3 after Ohio State. I just assumed Michigan State was included in that; they have the second most talent in the league. If they figure out the point guard spot -- which is very important in Izzo's system -- they figure to be quite good. As for your preferred three: -Purdue? Hummel is great (when healthy). Their backcourt is good and deep. The rest of the frontcourt . . . uh, well, did I mention Hummel is really good? -Michigan? They strike me as the prototypical overrated-because-of-a-good-tournament-game team. They lost fourteen games last year and went .500 in the league. They also lost their best player (Darius Morris). Yet, they're ranked highly because they gave Duke a great run the tournament -- but did Duke not get throat-stomped the next game? I like Beilein and think Tim Hardaway, Jr. is a breakout candidate. But I'm not sure they're clearly better than everyone below. -Wisconsin? Probably, bar Ohio State, the most likely to finish near the top of the conference. However, I think there are far more questions here than normal. They've usually had their fair share of 4-, or even 5-, star players; this year they have only one (Jared Berggren -- so, ostensibly, two with Jordan Taylor). I know I'm more lukewarm here than most, though. Those three teams may end up finishing 2-3-4, but I don't think there is that much separating them. For one, Illinois has more talent than all three of them (as mentioned, so does Michigan State). MSU- Yeah and as far as PG I think Green is almost the default guy. I'm probably skewing too negative based on how they've looked against two top 6 teams. I'm just not sure I see a big improvement from next year. Nix and Payne don't impress me. It will come down to how well Wood fits in, how good Dawsen is and Appling taking a jump. Michigan- They lost Morris and you never know with freshman PG's but Burke is supposed to be really good. I'm looking more at natural progression with Hardaway, Morgan, Smotrycz and returning all of those annoying shooters. Wisconsin- They shouldn't be that good but I'm not going to analyze it much deeper than Bo Ryan and Jordan Taylor. Most of the replacements have been in the program for a few years and will probably turn into studs out of nowhere.
  23. Outside of Ohio State it's a [expletive] crapshoot man. . . . and Penn State. Yep I think 5 or 6-11 are all fairly interchangeable at this point. I think more than that are interchangeable. Probably. I just look at Purdue, Michigan and Wisconsin being a cut above the mid-tier by the time conference play gets going. Not sure what to make of MSU.
  24. Creighton's really good. Huge win if Iowa pulls it off. It's kind of a measuring stick game for each team I think as they've both looked good against bad teams for the most part. They play in Des Moines so I'm kind of curious as to who brings more fans. There will be a lot more Iowa fans. I'm heading over to it, pretty pumped. It's been 3 really bad teams to this point but yeah this is clearly the best Iowa team since 2007 which isn't saying much but Basabe, Cartwright and Marble haven't really played well yet. Nice to have some depth so the starters don't all have to play 30 minutes against cupcakes. No starter played more than 20 tonight. May looks a hell of a lot better but he looked good in the non-conference last year too.
