  1. Some writers have said that Eagles people are telling them that's false. King got it wrong.
  2. Yeah this is big. I think Woodbury is going to Iowa unless Kansas or UNC come through with offers. After he had those big camps this spring and was MVP at the NBPA it seemed like that might happen but he cooled off/wore down later in the summer and they both appear to have a few targets in front of him. With Gesell in the bag I think he might come to Iowa even if he got those offers. Elijah Macon said he's planning on visiting and Kenny Gaines has us in his final 4-5. This could be the best class Iowa has had in a really long time.
  3. In football that's always been the case. It hasn't in basketball. Which is too bad, basketball doesn't need to become the recruiting cesspool that football is. The basketball recruiting cesspool is far worse than football. Agreed. At least in football, most of the time you're dealing with the family and high school coaches. DaJuan Marrerro is claiming an Illinois offer, is that accurate?
  4. Wow, basically the entire league passed on Braylon for even a 1-year deal.
  5. Of course not. UM said that new ESPN QB Rating showed those guys in the same category as him and I just pointed out that FO's numbers also had a couple of those guys ahead of him. That doesn't mean they're better or that anyone would take those guys over Cutler, just that different stats said those guys had an equivalent or better season than he did last year.
  6. I really don't care. I hope he's a downgrade but I have no way of knowing. The only things I've seen are that Spencer is considered about average, that he's better than Kreutz in the run game but worse as a pass protector.
  7. Damnit, my bad.
  8. How can an average fan say there's "no way" that one center from a team you probably didn't watch much is a downgrade from your previous center? But that's pretty much a situation where you have to go off of what scouts, people at NFL Films, sites like Pro Football Focus have to say. yes, the bears suck, we know, we know. if kreutz would have come back you'd say he's too old to get in front of anyone. Oh please. Does it make you feel better that I think the Bears are better than the Vikings this year? Now do you actually disagree with something I said?
  9. Football Outsiders ranks McNabb, Hill, Henne ahead of him last year. FO counts sacks as passes. Which obviously is a big hindrance for Jay, given the OL. Okay but Detroit's pass protection was worse (last in the league) and Washington's was only 5 spots ahead of the Bears.

  12. I'll be interested to see Jones' contract numbers. I think he waited and then the Packers were the only ones left. The Vikings had an offer out to him but he was waiting because the Jets and Packers were talking to him. The Vikings moved on and signed Jenkins and the Jets signed Plaxico.
  13. I think it will be an upgrade. Pro Football Focus says this:
  14. Does anyone have access to the ProFootballFocus.com stats/scouting reports? Apparently they've thought highly of Michael Jenkins.
  15. The Vikings apparently pulled out of the mix for Braylon. They just signed Michael Jenkins from the Falcons. They had an offer out to James Jones also but not sure if that still stands now.
  16. Yes by a pretty decent margin. Williams hasn't caught 40 balls in the last 4 years. His catch rate really isn't any better than Braylon's. It was 44% the two seasons prior to last. Plus he's not as fast or explosive.
  17. Agreed. I know Bears fans are desperate for a WR but as someone who had him on my fantasy team twice (and has Sunday Ticket) you're not missing out on much. Plus he only got a 1 year deal from the Rams so either he thinks he can prove himself and get a big deal, or there are issues that were causing teams to stay away.
  18. Speculation is that they'll trade Samuel which makes sense.
  19. It's a roster spot that could have been used for an impact player on offense. Haha...ok. I think with a 90 man training camp roster, we can manage to squeeze in a ST guy. They don't dress 90 on game day. But they do get to dress 46 now. With a likely shift in our use of TE and the possibility of only keeping/dressing 2 QB, there is plenty of room for one more WR on the team. It probably means Bennett gets shafted a bit, so the question becomes Bennett vs Williams, essentially. I've been under the impression that the gameday roster is exactly the same except for the 3rd QB being active. So you still will have 43 non-QB's dressing on gameday.
  20. Did the Bears show any interest in re-signing Manning?
  21. Hell yeah
  22. The Vikings signed DT Remi Ayodele from the Saints, presumably to be a Pat replacement. Started the last two years for NO and was a run stopper.
  23. Now that the Vikings are in the market for a WR I've noticed that these WR's suck and most will be overpaid. Derrick Mason is older than dirt but that bastard keeps producing. I'd rather have him than Malcom Floyd. He's like Berrian except Berrian didn't have a stud QB, #1 WR and TE playing alongside him when he became a free agent.
  24. I feel like the Redskins have now added 6 WR's older than 33.
