  1. For a team that hasn't been in the postseason for 6 years and had 4 losing seasons in row prior to this year? Yes. Especially when all but 2 regulars in the rotation are freshmen or sophomores.
  2. Northwestern dropping to NIT range and Minnesota possibly remaining in NIT range takes two spots away though. There's always the CBI. Apparently there's some kind of issue between the CBI and Big Ten. A Big Ten team has never been there and now there's talk that Iowa won't accept the offer because of whatever that situation is. Fran had said previously they wouldn't turn down any postseason bid.
  3. That's why it's pencil. You can erase it if you want. you're a pencil-dick Not a pencil-neck though.
  4. Northwestern dropping to NIT range and Minnesota possibly remaining in NIT range takes two spots away though. Northwestern doesn't do anything to change things. If they had gotten into the tournament the bubble team they beat out would have been in the NIT. I think Minnesota was already in.
  5. Iowa beat Illinois and Northwestern lost which should knock them out of the tournament. What a glorious day.
  6. That's why it's pencil. You can erase it if you want.
  7. That was all we heard about for the last 4 years.
  8. They've got 4-Star guys coming in at their two biggest positions of need.... I have no idea what to expect of Woodbury next year because big guys are such a crapshoot as freshmen. The one thing that's encouraging early is how he got a top 50 ranking. He doesn't have anywhere near the upside of guys like Leonard or other 7 footers who are raw skill-wise early on but have athleticism and a body. He's really skilled with both hands right now. Short arms for a 7 footer and can't jump but he's a good passer and crafty in the post. Gesell is going to be a stud and far more of an impact guy early on. I think he's more of a top 60-75 guy. ESPN had him there earlier, think he's around 80 or so now. The other two guards will really upgrade the athleticism, depth and perimeter D. Add them with some decent returning core pieces and I think they'll finally have middle of the pack B1G talent for the first time in 6-7 years.
  9. Did he play in the 2nd half today? LOL. It is mind boggling the way they ignored him when he destroyed us in the first 3 halves and we had the same personnel on him. Iowa did pressure the ball more though and I thought he quit fighting for position when he wasn't getting touches.
  10. Did he play in the 2nd half today?
  11. When two gingers are running wild on you along with a really goofy looking 7 footer, you'll get it back.
  12. Because most of the time we were guarding him with a 6'7 guy who will be playing about 10 minutes per game next year.
  13. [expletive] that noise. Book it. Next year will be the first time in 6 years where Iowa will actually have middle of the pack talent and depth. Illinois will be more talented if everyone comes back, but if not? Right now I would bet on Softy McSofterson leaving, at least 1-2 transfers from your other top 100 recruits, not much available to add late and everyone else having a first year coach. Get a good look at that view from below boys.
  14. Who is going to be on your roster?
  15. [expletive] that noise.
  16. Reggie Theus? That seems kind of odd. Didn't he get turned down by DePaul when they hired Purnell?
  17. As I said a couple months ago, get used to looking up at us in the standings boys!
  18. Don't think so. Lose tomorrow and we're 17-16 with an RPI over 100. If we win tomorrow I think we've got a shot. But if we win tomorrow, just win the whole [expletive] thing.
  19. Alright Illinois, [expletive] you guys. We haven't won a BTT game since winning the title in '06. I'm sick of losing on Thursday. If Iowa wins they keep NIT hope alive and I wouldn't mind getting another shot at MSU in their first game without Dawson. More importantly they can avoid losing twice to Illinois and slam the door on Weber. Even though he's been bad recently and they could upgrade, I still hate his stupid face, voice and the fact that his mouth is always open.
  20. Who can? Well Bruce owns us. I say you stick with him.
  21. Anthony Grant has proven he cannot beat Iowa. Not concerned.
  22. Has Randy Bennett's name been mentioned at all with Illinois? I think I've read in the past that he would lean toward staying on the west coast but if not he should be at the top of their list. Championship week [expletive] rules.
  23. Next year the Big Ten will have the same opponents you played once as this year (with home/road flipped) as this year, correct?
  24. Iowa is 0-6 in BTT games not coached by Alford.
  25. somebody on the scout board is really insistent that miller will be a target for illinois, stating that he desperately wants to get out of arizona and back to the midwest. i'm skeptcal, but still. He better really [expletive] hate Arizona and despise living there with every fiber of his being then. He has the #1 recruiting class in the country coming in there to a conference that is currently terrible. Not that he should be scared but look at the coaches in this league compared to the Pac-12.
