  1. Depends on where he's playing. As a PF I think he's at least average. He just can't handle the few good C's down on the block. He at least tries to play defense and seems to have some interest in it, unlike Boozer.
  2. Look at his PER, per minute and rate stats before D'Antoni got there. He's not inflated by the system. Lee has played 142 fewer games, 5,600 fewer minutes, hasn't had the injury problems and doesn't have the motivation questions. He also at least tries defensively.
  3. I would be a bit surprised if the Nets went after Boozer before/instead of Lee. Lee fits in really nicely with that team and there's been a lot of speculation that Pokhorov wants him to stick it to the Knicks.
  4. I think I'd rather have David Lee. A couple years younger. Slightly more athletic. Probably a better rebounder and scorer also. If I were a Bulls fan there's no question I'd rather have Lee. Lee and Noah would be the biggest pairing of "try really hard" guys who are actually pretty good in a long time. Add Ray Allen and you've got a really good chemistry team with some balance. They can't win the title next year but could get to the conference finals. My "poor man's" Jazz comparison could look pretty good if they sign Boozer and Korver as I've heard rumored.
  5. Imagine this spectacle on Thursday. He has this hour-long, special in Akron where he's donating ad revenue to the Boys and Girls club. You're a Cavs fan thinking this is probably going to be a feel good thing about home and loyalty and all that stuff. Then he turns heel and announces he's going to the Bulls. I can't imagine a bigger kick to the balls for a sports fan. Well, yeah I can because I lived through the '98 and '10 NFC Championships and '03 NLCS but still.
  6. Isn't that the same as being the favorite to win the championship? I didn't say they would win. I said favorites to win. If they have the best odds of being the best in the regular season, wouldn't they naturally have the best odds to be the best in the postseason too. It's hard to say. Basketball, more than any other sport, is where you can basically mark it down that a team with one of the 3 or 4 best records in the league is going to win the championship. There are teams that go full throttle trying to lock up a #1 seed and then there are older teams (i.e. the Celtics) who seemingly only turn it on for the playoffs. Some of the old Bulls teams (in 1993 especially) and the Shaq-Kobe Laker teams did the asme thing. There's usually a strong correlation for sure. The Cavs were breaking a lot of long held stasitical patterns by winning a bunch of games over 2 years and not even making the Finals. Maybe it's just an anomaly, maybe not. I can guarantee you the idea that it's not just an anomaly has crawled into Lebron's head though. The coaching change could have a big impact in the playoffs also. If LeBron comes back they're obviously top 3 in the East and I can't put Orlando/Boston ahead of them. Make a couple switches with role players, hope you upgraded enough from Brown to Scott and take your chances in May.
  7. If you miss out on the free agents you look like the poor man's Eastern Conference version of the Jazz with weaker role players.
  8. Absolutely shocking that you say this after he thinks it's possible or likely that the Bulls get shut out. It's just like the idiot Iowa fans who freak out when someone like Jesse Palmer says something negative about Iowa. Then he's an idiot who just wants attention and has no clue what he's talking about. But some goof like Mark May is "classy and does his homework" because he loves Ferentz. I'm going to laugh when LeBron signs with the Cavs and I read you saying that LeBron doesn't care about winning and will never win anything.
  9. I know it sounds ridiculous but I think you're better off with LeBron/Bosh or Wade/Bosh. With Rose, LeBron, Wade you have three guys who can't really shoot from 3 and all thrive off having the ball in their hands and driving. I mean yeah you take those guys and figure that all out later but I think you could have more problems and less balance with that scenario.
  10. Completely random question I have while watching the World Cup, why don't players do that flip-launch pass on throw-in's more often?
  11. Apparently Wade and his agent are going to meet again with the Bulls tonight.
  12. It's not a black hole when they can add Bosh with him and have Harris, LeBron, Bosh and Lopez as 4/5 of their lineup. It's still Newark, New Jersey. True but he's spent his entire life in Akron or Cleveland.
  13. And Harris was hurt last year (though he does seem to be hurt often). He was at 21.65 his first year in NJ. Lopez is and will be better than Noah and they have the potential to add Bosh while it looks like the Bulls won't be able to.
  14. It's not a black hole when they can add Bosh with him and have Harris, LeBron, Bosh and Lopez as 4/5 of their lineup.
  15. He set his career best for yards, yards per catch and TD's in his first season with the Vikings. Last year he had the second most receptions of his career. I'm not sure how he's "way behind" those guys. He was targeted the same amount of times as Percy and 13 times more than Shank. Putting a RB in there doesn't really make sense anyways. He was also dealing with a hamstring that limited him all year.
  16. No you never know but basically everyone is under the assumption that it's a near certainty he re-signs with Dallas. I'm guessing there's good reason because reporters and analysts are trying to think up every possible crazy scenario and combination of free agents.
  17. i don't think people really thought he would opt out Late in the season it was expected that he would opt out for the payday. No one seems to think there's much chance of him Dallas. He likes it there, he's the man there and Cuban treats him (and the rest of the team well) and has been loyal to him. People don't think he's all that interested in starting over somewhere as the #2, even if that gets him closer to a title. He would be ideal alongside Wade or James though.
  18. FWIW here are Chad Ford's predictions as of now: Bron & Johnson in Chi; Wade & Bosh in Mia; Amare & Gay in NJ; Dirk in Dallas; Boozer in NY; Lee in Utah And his odds on landing LeBron: Bulls 40%, Cavs 25%, Heat 20%, Nets 10%, Knicks 4%, Clippers 1%
  19. Illinois offered another player from Cedar Rapids in the '11 class, Josh Oglesby a 6'5 guard. Also has offers from Minnesota, Boston College, Arizona State and a lot of mid-major's. No offer from Iowa or ISU yet but those will probably be coming in July. The other kid from CR they offered narrowed his list to Iowa, ISU, Illinois, Wisconsin, Butler and UNI. He's going to trim it to 3 shortly and most expect it to be Iowa, ISU and either Illinois/Wisconsin.
  20. That, and 2 World Series rings. 1
  21. 2) Yeah because the Bulls found it impossible to deal Hinrich which their dealing partner (in the East no less) knew would pave the way for them to sign LeBron and Bosh. A team can basically get a former #2 and talented young big man in exchange for cheap roster filler. They aren't going to turn it down because they're scared of the possibility that the Heat may sign all three. People thinking Beasley is nuts is the only way he can't be dealt. This is the NBA where Kevin Pritchard is fired just because his owner has lost his mind. These guys are worried about saving their own job. 3) That's pretty meaningless and could be done as insurance. There's no harm to him by setting up a meeting that may or may not take place.
  22. Stephen A. Smith is reporting that LeBron and Bosh are going to join Wade in Miami. The whole thing is going to be a circus and no one really knows anything. It does sound like Wade wants to stay and Miami is Bosh's top choice.
