  1. As long as you do the same if your team loses.
  2. I think the key matchup will be Marcus Washington and Adewale Ogunleye. Washington gave up 3 sacks last week to Julius Peppers, while Peppers is a much better DE than Ogunleye, I hope Wale expoits his weaknesses and is a constant presence in the backfield. I'm predicting the 17-6 Bears.
  3. i'm excited about the sox collapse. most of the fans who were worshipping ozzie guillen last year are the same one's who are bashing him now. he must have forgotten how to manage and play ozzie ball this year.
  4. I read Sulley's article in the Tribune this morning and just now clicked the link to Miles' piece in the Herald. Fantastic comparison, daske, Sullivan's article is complete garbage with absolutely no substance or originality at all. Miles' article analyzed a major problem within the organization and is hopefully eye opening for a lot of your average Cub fans. Nice work, Bruce, as usual. At least you're holding someone accountable for this disaster.
  5. i hope he bounces back and at least becomes an above average pitcher.
  6. i hope he doesn't play on walking around there.
  7. I thought I read this week that the current Sox payroll sits at 99 million for just 12 players currently under contract. Williams is going to have to move some of that mediocore starting pitching. Garcia is most likely to go, but he's had a terrible year and his value is nowhere near where it was last off season, when he should have moved one of his starting pitchers.
  8. I got in at +9 and was content to see it get blown away. The interception return for a TD could have made the line very interesting, but was easily cancelled by the penalty.
  9. This is so true - baseball statistics are FAR more indicative of a player's actual performance, and yet there is so much more resistance to them. Oh the irony. I think the really irony is the resistance to stats are that are far more indicative of a player's actual performance than the few stats that are accepted as "traditional stats". Many people bash "stat geeks" for using stats in an discussion of a player, but then use HR, RBI's, BA to back up their claims.
  10. to me it goes like this The earliest he could have possibly started using was mid to late 2000. IIRC, according to "Game of Shadows", Bonds starting using roids after the 1998. He saw watch McGwire and Sosa were doing and wanted to get in on the action.
  11. Chelsea 1 Liverpool 0 Arsenal 1 Man U 0 Tiger Woods was at the Chelsea match, apparently he's golfing buddies with Shevshenko.
  12. bump for Hill's awesome performance today. great job, rich.
  13. There are some solid matchups in the Premiership Sunday. Arsenal vs. Man U at Old Trafford Chelsea vs. Liverpool at Stamford Bridge I'd love for Chelsea to come out and play its best game against the Reds. Liverpool has played really well against Chelsea the past few years. Knocked them out of the Champions League, knocked them out of the FA Cup last year, and this year in the FA Shield match. Hopefully playing at home will give Chelsea a boost and come away with 3 points.
  14. Do we have any Marc Edwards sightings?
  15. Sven-Gorin Eriksson is being publicily linked to the US National Team Head Coaching vacancy.
  16. lets not forget, EVERYONE from cbssportline has the lions winning http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/features/writers/expert/picks The picks at CBS look like they're against the spread. +8 for the Lions isn't a bad play, but overall winning the game might be.
  17. Madrid is down 2-0 at half.
  18. I wish I could be watching.
  19. Here's Tuesday's Champion's League Scores The only eyebrow raiser would be the Lisbon-Inter result. I thought Inter would be much improved this year with all the troubles with the rest of the big clubs in Italian football. Here are today's matches:
  20. I heard him say this too. It seems he trying to justify his voting for Jermaine Dye when there are clearly better players, more deserving of winning the MVP.
  21. I know Bruce gets a lot of love around here for some of his ideas and articles and I don't want to come across as a buttkisser but I was laughing when I read this line from today's story in the Herald.
  22. but Hendry can spin ANYTHING I look forward to this kind of statement "Last year we were riddled with injuries. You can't prevent that (even though you can), so we obviously couldn't do much because we were always using our backups and guys from the minors (even though it is possible do win if you have good depth and a good minor league system)." But that statement will either be proceeded by or immediately followed by: "We're not gonna make excuses."
  23. The Packers are a terrible team. I'm ectastic with how well the Bears played today. I agree with a lot of the sentiment about red zone td conversion. Against better competition, they will need to put those chance in for 6 pts.
  24. Quite a bit of it is in HD as well. I'm pumped about that. Is ESPN2 broadcasting in HD or are you talking about another channel?
