  1. the remainder of the bullpen outside of Dempster, Howry, Eyre should be made up of minimum salary making youngsters.
  2. Will someone please explain to me why people still think of Soriano as a leadoff hitter? It's where he's most comfortable and his OBP of .368 at the number 1 slot last year ain't all that bad. Its not bad at all, but his SLG is much more beneficially a bit farther down in the order.
  3. I have no idea what to say. I've never see a game quite like last night's. Grossman absolutely killed the Bears with his overagressive, back foot throwing, not checking down passes. Hopefully, Thomas Jones is quickly losing his starting spot. Benson is definitely an unknown commodity but I'm sick of Jones dances and side stepping when he needs to pick up 2 yards on and 3rd and 2. I have also never seen a defensive player completely dominate like Brian Urlacher did in the 4th quarter. Simply amazing. I would have been much more satisfied with the defense's performance had they not let Leinart move the ball into field goal range with relative ease on the last drive. The 1st half tackling was terrible and Lance Briggs played poorly until he stepped it up in the 4th quarter. I'm concerned about the Mike Brown foot injury. There's a huge step down by having Todd Johnson in at SS. Hopefully in two weeks, Chris Harris is back at 100% or close to it and move him into the safety spots along with Manning. It sounds like Ricky Manning will be heading to New York to meet with the NFL about his disciplinary issues, hopefully a suspension isn't in order, otherwise the secondary could be pretty shallow against the 49ers. A win is a win, and I'll take it but please don't make it so ugly for the first 3 quarters in the future.
  4. and lovie acknoweldges the butt whipping by not calling a time out there.
  5. desmond clark continues to be a solid target.
  6. can they please put a cheeseburger outside of the booth so barkely leaves. interesting to move them back 10 yards there.
  7. 3 and out, get some field possession and get some points.
  8. James had like 6 carries of at least 5 yards on the opening drive. yeah, i'm a moron. i just looked at his numbers.
  9. the quick passes to the recievers are causing the most trouble. james hasn't been able to much yet.
  10. absolutely terrible first quarter. pathetic tackling by the entire defense, but briggs especially. run the ball a bit. 2nd and 10's make it tough to get first downs.
  11. Its very strange to see the Bears being credited as a great organization like the Patriots or Yankees. It seems the Bears have been run by a bunch of morons who had no clue how to run a organization. The McCaskey's a barometer of success in professional sports? Its definitely a nice change. Once Virginia took family members out of the daily operations, thinks have gone well. Ted Phillips is looking like a fantastic sports executive. Got the stadium. Straightened out a defunct team. Got a good GM and stood by him through rough patches. Agreed. Getting Mike McCaskey out of the day to day running of the Bears was vital for any success. I have a few friends that work for the Bears and they both have said the McCaskey's are constantly cutting corners with costs and don't make decisions based on whats best for the organization but rather keeping the costs down. I can live with that as long as the product on the field isn't suffering. As we know, right now, its far from suffering.

  13. I don't like the move but I will give Piniella a chance to do his job. Hopefully Piniella has more of the track record with the Reds and Mariners than with the D-Rays. I'm dumbfounded Rothschild is back. Its completely inexcusable for him to be re-hired. With the arm problems of the Cubs the past 3 years under Rothschild's tenure and Piniella's reputation as someone who rides his pitchers. I'm very scared for the health of the staff.
  14. Unless the coaching staff will change their plans this week, Idonije played for Wale against Buffalo.
  15. It's terrible but Robinson did get a really bad bounce right before he went to boot it.
  16. Looking back on the 2006 season, how would you rate the clubhouse chemistry of the team? Do you think it played a role on the outcome of the season? Are you of the stance winning breeds good chemistry or good chemisty breeds winning? Thanks.
