  1. for those out of market people looking for cubs games, go to http://myp2p.eu. Its free streaming of all kinds of sports, international too. BTW, I expect that ESPN will be broadcasting the Cubs on opening day
  2. didnt mike maddux go to the padres this offseason?
  3. we can find a free league, deal with the pain in the keister stuff but toss in what we would pay to renew the league as the pot and split it up 3 ways at the end. This way it pays 1-3 places and keeps everyone in even for the consolation round for 3rd place
  4. Sounds like a cross between Marmol and Lidge potentially
  5. One of the beautiful parts to a DVR. I have it set to record anything Cubs & Sports related. Lots of good undiscovered stuff has come from it. Highly recommended. I have a Direct TV DVR BTW
  6. please count me in
  7. Dude, you get into some ODD debates
  8. bumping them a month ahead of time? Was that really necessary? Mine is complete
  9. Count me in for the seahawks
  10. how is the WBC any different then spring training? Can't a big name get hurt in the spring too?
  11. Restovich, German & Van Ben are actually not that bad signings either
  12. the 1st year that I went to Spring Training was the year he signed. I was behind the batting cages in old HoHoKam and he was hitting and his bat broke. He gave it to me (it had the barrel wrapped in tape) and then after the game he signed it for me.I still have it and swing it around during games. What is humorous is that I took the tape off and it was domingo ramos' bat!
  13. Terms are 1 yera $800K per cubs.com
  14. Maddux is my favorite player of all time. But Pedro is the best pitcher in the last 20 years. Certainly when he was on the mound. Greg might have him beat in total value because of durability, I guess. Pedro has a strong argument for best pitcher ever for when he was on the mound, though. an era at 2 for 1,000 innings? Pedro is not that good.
  15. AFL is not far from Vegas. Maddux is by far the best pitcher in the last 20 years. What would it take for him to go in as a Cub? I think its a closer argument then I first realized considering he pitched a total of 9 seasons with the Cubs and 11 in Atl. What would it take to have his number on the foul pole?
  16. if last year doesn't matter then what stats are you using to justify your man crush? Stats before last year? Random Stats to support a theory? What matters is that Greene is not good. Has yet to be good at any point and has been injured in nearly every season. This is the part that people who follow stats forget. Injuries cost a player something that cannot be quantified. Continued injuries make you worse. Greene is worse then he has been and will continue to be. Find a new diamond in the rough that makes more logical sense and people might begin to pay attention again.
  17. has anyone seen any other team expressing interest in Wood? I have read about KRod, Fuentes but nothing on Wood. Perhaps he might have accepted arbitration based on this speculation which meant Hendry couldn't accept the risk
  18. Why would the Padres want Ceda back? They gave up on him too. Since the braves are no longer interested, Peavy's price tag just went down
  19. So if he accepts a 1 year deal this year and we are in the same place next year. When would it be OK for Wood to leave? It sounds like Hendry is trying his best to secure a future for Wood elsewhere. This is a situation that needs to be resolved eventually so why not this year?
  20. Well here is a tidbit towards the SS angle from XM. De Rosa was on last week and said of all the positions he liked he would prefer to be on the left side of the infield. Then he went on to talk about how he came up as a SS and had to learn other things other then SS becuase of Renteria. I would imagine that DeRosa would get a shot at SS before Fontenot. I actually like the idea of a DeRosa/Fontenot middle infield. DeRo's arm is certainly strong enough and his rnage at 2nd was that bad up the middle so he can move to his left theorically just fine. Just a backup thought to Theriot going.
  21. Why trade Vitters in a deal for a player the Cubs would like to have but don't really need as much as different areas of the club? Since Vitters is really the only Grade B or higher prospect left, perhaps hanging onto him would be prudent.
  22. on a realted note. Holden Koushner is a great XM personality. Cub Fan and fun to listen to. Call in sometime and he usually gives Cub fans at least 5 minutes to talk.
  23. + Wha?!? Yes, Jim, YES! The term overrated is appropriate here and a perfect example of selling high.
  24. I find it interesting that on almost all fronts the Cubs are noted as being interested. There is a lot of "related" news on rotoworld for the Cubs. Good Thing! Go Trader Jim!
