  1. one way to get a pitching prospect is to deal Lee.
  2. Mike Jacobs can be had. If Lee is dealt He is a viable candidate. He is not as good as others but he still has more positives then negatives and would fit well in the Cubs Righthanded lineup
  3. Bob Barr
  4. According to MLB 2K8, Sam Fuld turns into the league's best CF withing 3 years
  5. could this be blamed for some of his poor stats last year?
  6. For once I think that this board is valuing Peavy too high and selling Cubs players low. This is a perfect situation for the Cubs and Padres. The Padres need young, cheap players in mass quanity and the Cubs can offer that. The Padres would rather get the extra 1 or 2 players in a deal then try to hold out for a star. Especially if a bad contract is taken back, the Cubs can make this deal work.
  7. WOW! Thanks!
  8. State Senator...of Oregon
  9. can you tell me who my exempt players are?
  10. So let me understand correctly. Brewerfan is OK with giving up Fielder, Hardy, Hart & Gwyn for Peavy? WOWSERS! I think that Hardy, Hart & Parra is WAY overboard for Peavy. Look at the Haren deal last offseason. The A's got talent but got more quantity than quality. If memory serves, they got 1 B+ prospect and several B-to C- players There is no way that Peavy brings back a huge haul like Haren or Bedard. A deal for Pie, Marshall & Ceda would be more then fair.
  11. I still think Harden is a good comparison to Peavy. If Murton & Gallagher was all it would take for him, Pie, Marshall & Ceda should be enough for Peavy.
  12. Hence the Mike Jacobs "TYPE" player. In other words a younger, left handed 1B bat that might not have the level of production Lee had a couple of years ago but a solid .280/.350/.450 line. That player is out there and can be had if Lee is dealt. There are plenty of that player. Andy LaRoche, Billy Butler et. all
  13. Jackson can't be traded until one year has passed since he signed. Hence the "Jay Jackson TYPE" meaning someone similar to him in high A or AA that I could not think of off the top of my head.
  14. Why is Peavy so valued? He seems very similar to Harden in that he puts all he has in every pitch and sooner then later that will effect his ability to go deep into games. Not to mention his terrible mechanics and his already questionable injury whispers. I don't see Peavy getting a bigger return then somehwere between the Harden deal and the Sabathia Deal. In that sense a deal for Pie, Marshall and Jay Jackson type would be somewhat reasonable.
  15. The liklihood of Texeria even being available for other teams to negoiate with is very slim. I very much doubt that the Angels would let it get that far from the 15 day exclusive window. If the Yankees are inthe market for DLee then there is some value there. Replace Lee's offense with Vald in right and get a lesser 1B ala a Mike Jacobs type. This way you get the option of a LH bat and a LH first baseman.
  16. why wouldnt the cubs just decline Harden's option and offer arbitration. I doubt he would get the 4.5 million salary raise that the option gives him.

  18. Haha. Where have you been? Tailgaiting for Padres games went out the window when they moved to Petco Park. You can still tailgate at Charger games. I'm Always late to Petco cause they have been weekday games so I have no idea. Best place to Tailgate at Qualcomm is under the metrolink track. Tons of space and a lot fo friendly RV'ers
  19. I am going to Game 3. I have no idea where yet but I have a line on a couple of sources. Anyone going real early to tailgate or is that only a Padre thing? Offer is still open to any out of towners that are looking for a good place to stay. I can get you a good deal on a room at the hotel I manage: http://www.pechanga.com
  20. Wowsers! Dempster just got more expensive
  21. I was hoping that he was going to comment about Font wearing his number, especially after he had such a good game
  22. this is the reason i didn't fork out for the extra innings package this year. I discovered this place last football season. This is not illegal as the logic is the people streaming are doing so after paying something for it. There is nothing illegal about paying for cable and then letting your friends watch TV when they come over.
  23. if they come to LA come early to my Hotel/Casino. We will have the pre-party and then the post party
  24. dempster looks pretty close after the 1st 2 batters
  25. Perhaps we can institute a new bet if the cubs win 13 more games... It might be fun to see Len & Bob in spring training with swapped facial hair
