Who’s the next incompetent yes man general manager Jerry Jr will hire and keep employed for 6 seasons too long? I’ll bet whoever it is will hire Doc Rivers. He’ll be desperate enough and will deliver the Bulls to the promise land which is winning the bubble tournament only to be bounced in 5 by the 1 seed. -
Why hasn’t Mo been in the lineup? I’m not a fan of giving Carlson or Conforto key at bats in close games. At least Conforto can draw a walk.

Sure. Everyone freaked out in the spring of 2024 and 2023 until the bats finally woke up. Will they wait until they’re 10 games back of first place in mid June or July before going on a heater, finish with 86 wins and miss the playoffs?. Rae, Assad and Tailon pitching 60% of their games is less than ideal.

For splits? He pinch hit a good hitter for a bad hitter regardless of pitcher handedness. It’s understandable if Amaya is injured or it’s a blowout I guess.

At least the Cardinals dominated the division with a core of Pujols/Edmonds/Rollen/Holliday/Carpenter/Wainwright/Molina etc Brewers are a horsefeathers nuisance.

Amaya since July of 24 has been the superior hitter (829 OPS, 129 wRC+) and should be in the every day lineup vs right handed starters. Kelly’s Frank Schwindel April was an aberration that should be handled accordingly. We have 10 seasons of date to draw from.

Kelly has a career 90 wRC+ and he’s at 88 since last May.

The schedule makers really stacked their early April schedule in ****** weather cities compared to the last 3 seasons.

The first half splits from last season predate 2025 going all the way back to July of 24. They’ve been volatile since 2023 and it’s entirely possible the bats go quiet for the first month plus or so and then go on another 2-3 month tear like we’ve seen since 2023 with this core. From July 7th 24-July 6th 25 they went 96-66 with 859 runs scored to 637 allowed. They’re consistently streaky.

I wouldn’t worry. If we’re using first and second half splits as a proxy to predict the Cubs 162 game production for 2026 then Happ. Shaw and Nico posting a 139/130/122 wRC+ in the second half will pick up the slumping bats. We’ll forget all about Cade Horton with Tailons 1.75 second half ERA too.

I love playing around with splits. That 2024 offense was potent with a 110 wRC+ scoring at a 5.1 runs/game clip from july 4th onwards. The “real” 2024 Cubs.
