What’s the word on Wiggins and Wicks? Cabrera is also an injury risk so it’s great that they’ve knocked off these wins before they start treading water with the injuries. I’d rather have Brown in the rotation if he’s only pitching every 3-4 days when Thielbar returns with Assad eating innings in blowouts.

Commenters on Red Repoter are blaming the Cubs late inning magic on Bregman orchestrating some kind of cheating ring involving having cameras in the outfield bleachers to decode signs. Those dumb mother horsefeathers forget that pitch com exists to prevent that very thing from happening.

I’m glad the injuries haven’t bit them in the ass yet and they’ve knocked off these wins. Once the magic wears off they might up treading water for for a month+ if the rotation injuries keep piling up. If they finish 65-60 the rest of the way they’ll make the playoffs. kind of remarkable how they’ve won 18/21 allowing 4.1 runs/game.

Good to see Busch crush a Peter high fastball 420 feet into the right field bleachers. Not the sexiest win streak (+15 RD) but at least there’s no bad losses that’ll bite them in the ass in September as of now.

Andrew Abbot is basically the new Suarez.

When they’re good and we suck they destroy us. When we’re good we’re lucky to sweep them in any given year. Outside of 2015 and 16 they’ve always been a nuisance. Marty brennamans rant added another layer of salt. I could be off base but that’s what this rivalry feels like. It’s also mandatory that they have at least 1 Cub killer in their lineup like Austin Kearns, Votto, Suarez, Any of the Valentin brothers. Etc I’m still pissed about 2004 as well.

Better problem to have than choosing the less stinky sh!t end of the Berti/Brujan stick as the starting third baseman. I think we’ll see him split some time with Mo at DH more frequently.

The trade off is we might see career scrub/Cub killer Randal Grichuk in a couple weeks in a Whitesox uniform, a career 761 OPS with a 961 vs Cubs pitching in 200 PAs.

The third base and bench alone is worth 1.5 more wins than at the 35 game mark a year ago. This is a completely different offense with Suzuki too. It’s just so frustrating how streaky he is because when he’s on he’ll carry an offense.
