  1. It would be nice to have Josh Hamilton, but only an idiot team would trade that guy!
  2. and a non-strike throwing rich hill is better than a strike-throwing jason marquis. this is a facetious argument as we all know there is no such thing as a "strike-throwing jason marquis" pffft He throws tons of strikes. Opposing batters usually mash the heck out of 'em.
  3. That last homerun was a waste --- typical of a player like soriano. Only hitting useless homers that won't matter in the out come of the game. Green text, please?
  4. centerfield at wrigley is smaller than petco. with a short leash, this deal could be fantastic this year. this might keep the cubs from trading for Griffey and taking him up on that 16 million option.
  5. Jim Frey is an idiot. Dallas Green sucks. Larry Bowa sucks (true story, actually).
  6. Estes won't be in the game long enough to hit 2 homers. I have no doubt he'll hit one, however.
  7. I know Lou is unpopular right now, but at what point is a major league pitcher accountable for throwing strikes? We can argue if putting Fox in was the right move all day long, but the fact is that Fox couldn't throw a strike.
  8. in related news --- all players will wear ruffled socks and be required to skip joyfully on and off the field.
  9. I find it hard to believe that there has been a more dominating pitching performance in all of major league history. Sadly, I remember that game like it was yesterday. That was the summer before my wife and I got married. Her first ever ball game was one in Houston that Kerry pitched. That was a fun year all around.
  10. Let's assume he's out for the year, and be thankful for anything better. I know he's been hit a couple of times on that wrist in the past week or so. If there's no damage, he's a lucky lucky man.
  11. hahaha. soto is easily the #1 fantasy catcher to this point in the season too. if there was any doubt that last year was a fluke, i think that has to be gone by now. no, he's probably not going to put up pujols numbers all year, but the LD%, patience and XBH power are all signs that he will be one of the better offensive catchers in the game. We're going to be so sad when Hendry trades Soto, at the deadline, for a slumping left handed hitting veteran out fielder.
  12. Has anyone seen Hill do the towel drill? I rest my case.
  13. Some dillhole in my fantasty league picked up Soto before I could. He sat at the #2 spot on that guy's roster for weeks leading up to the season. I desparatley tried to trade for Soto but this guy woudn't listen to any offers. Then, out of the blue, a few days into the season, he drops Soto. What an idiot. Yes, I picked him up and have felt all warm and fuzzy inside ever since.
  14. 13 pitchers? I thought we only needed 6 --- the rotation and Marmol.
  15. If a yankee or red sox player does that, they get called safe, and gammons goes on for years about how great the slide was.
  16. He really said that? What a idiot. Actually, it could be more like minutes instead of hours. According to VineLine, Wood was ready to pick up the phone and tell Hendry it was over. Something happened and he threw one last time and surprisingly had no pain. I've since thrown away the issue of VineLine, so please don't blast me, my family, and my dog because my memory may be failing.
  17. Take away all the errors and the BS strike 3 on Kosuke and it's probably 3-0 Cubs. Yeah, and take away the balls on my uncle and he's be my aunt. What if he keeps the unit?
  18. just let him work through his troubles. hahhahahahahahahahahahaha
  19. Could this be Sean's dad? http://www.timtoon.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/gallagher.jpg
  20. He's all rested and ready to go 3 innings tomorrow to preserve a 5 run lead. I'll take the 5 run lead.
  21. Our poor economy and global warming, just to name a couple.
  22. In your delusional mind maybe. Always remember that all cub players stink.
