    The big difference, to me, between 84, 03, and this year is that in those other years the sucess was a big surprise. This year, the sucess is expected --- something that's never been experienced in my entire cub fan life.

I can't find a link, but here's the compact version: Marty: there's a ball Jeff: no, strike Marty: F this, F that, Don't you dare challenge me Marty: (leaves booth) Jeff: annouces game (I'm not sure how long, or if Marty came back to the booth). So the guy lumps all cub fans into the "obnoxious" category, then curses his color guy on air. Why will I not be surprised to see nothing happen to Marty (other than the Reds getting him a new color guy)?

    Marty can lick my nuts. It doens't take a genius to figure out that the 15 or so fans that threw balls on the field are complete bufoons. However, since when does what 15 fans do speak for literally milliions of honest Cub fans across the country? He's a bitter old far who should be called out on these comments.

    Gooden will back up Dmac at LB. You didn't know that Dmac went both ways? Man, if you want to take the Jets, I don't mind. I have a million things going on right now and I wouldn't be doing anyone any justice with my lack of studying the draft stuff. I won't take offense at all.

    I told Raisen that I had backed out, but obviously there is a lack of Jet / Cub fan combos in the cyber world (whoda thunk it?). So, if the Jets have Dmac, do they really need anyone else? I mean, he's the Bill Brasky of college football. Anywho, the Jets need help on the defensive side of the ball. The Jets select Tavares Gooden, LB, Miami I'm sorry for taking so long.

    Welcome to my world. At times, I still have thoughts that 1984 and 1989 were just a few years ago. Same thing for '98.

    A buddy and I had this conversation today. We both agree that Dusty didn't do anything with Prior and Wood that any other manager would have done. You ride the um. . . horses, so to speak. Baker's love affair with some ancient baseball philosophy is what did him in. The "base cloggers" crap, etc. Things like hitting Lenny Harris leadoff. . . . . things like pitching around Harris to get to Lowell in the NLCS. The good thing is that Baker is gone. He'll ruin the Reds. Yeah, they may win this year and the players will love him --- heck, he holds no one accountable, especially the vets. When it's all said and done, they'll stink.
