    Yeah the Brewers don't trade away prospects for rentals, they do the exact opposite. But we don't even necessarily need a Skubal, we just need any good SP. But if they want to beat the Dodgers they need like 3 Skubals, 2 Soto's, and probably another beastly reliever.

    Wicks sucks and can't throw an inning without being shelled. I guess he's an option in the pen among other sucky Iowa arms if someone gets hurt but I can't see him going more than 1 inning unless he's mopping up. His numbers in Iowa gave been bad this year so far. He ideally belongs there. Unfortunately our SP depth beyond Brown is in desperation terrority.

    Here's a good article to a key reason we sucked in May. TLDR: We annihilated fastballs in April, teams adjusted and started throwing certain guys a ton of breaking balls. Seiya and Dansby were leading the MLB in braking balls seen, Amaya and Bregman weren't too far behind: https://www.mlb.com/news/cubs-seeing-historic-amount-of-breaking-balls-may-2026 Also, Mo was last on the team in May in strikes thrown to him (30%). He was also worst on the team in swings on pitches outside the zone. Pitchers have adjusted to him.

    Total team stats are what matters with position players. It doesn't matter how that's distributed amongst players on the team. Unless you have a study that says differently. Also, PCA is a superstar. He's worth 5-6 wins. He's at least as good as Tucker and probably better.

    Seems like everyone else is walking a ton then Dansby comes up with RISP and flails. His whole hitting approach is bad. Trying to pull fastballs so he pulls off badly on any other pitch type.

    We have like 2 good pitchers. Pathetic. They're going to have to completely empty the farm to trade for enough pitchers to make this staff not suck.

    Imagine where our rotation would be if Imanaga and Brown pitched like last year.

    I think the sample sizes are too small to be very meaningful at this point.

    After the first inning, which could have been jitters, and how it ended the middle innings for Wicks were effective in his start. I still think he's a below- average pitcher but I guess our options are terrible.

    Having both is likely good for the game and for the fans of all teams, which is by far my main concern with any CBA. I support both but it should be fair to the players. Caps probably won't happen though.

    They seem to be throwing Mo a lot of high fastballs out of the zone and he chases them a lot.

    Psychology in sports is not quantifiable, no statcast measurements for it. It does matter, but we have no idea how much or often even when it happens and we'll never know. I don't think firing Counsell or Hoyer at this point is worth whatever change for change's sake it would result it. At a certain point it's on the players to perform. To their credit they were busting their arses all game today.
