  1. I think if the Cubs do sign Tucker, Happ will be traded. I know he has a NTC, so they may have to get a list of teams he would agree to be traded to. Cassie would then get left field. If they can’t move Happ they may trade Suzuki(which, IMO, is a mistake)
  2. Planned short outing to limit his innings and pitches.
  3. That is his job. And I believe you are correct that he is checking in on a lot of teams.
  4. Any chance we see Wiggins in the pen this year? This would limit his innings and also possibly really help the pen.
  5. Those keeping score. Turner 2-2 against a lefty. Busch 0-3. Please maybe trust CC next time he plays Turner over Busch.
  6. He has gotten a hit in every game since the break. A homer and double among his hits. Does he have to get commented about every time he makes an out? Even the best players make way more outs than they get hits. Counting tonight 7 for his last 22. With a homer and a double in that time. Maybe not a “hit streak”, but not something to have someone bitch about every time he makes an out.
  7. It does take 2 teams to make a trade. This idea that Jed is sitting around doing nothing gets real old. He can’t make teams trade players if they are not sure if they want to dump or not. My guess is Jed would love to make a trade soon. Doesn’t mean there is one to be made.
  8. Exactly my hope. Get thru the 5th and let Flexen pitch 2 innings.
  9. I would have liked to see Brasier go a second inning as well. But it seems CC doesn’t like certain pen arms throwing more than one inning. 🤷
  10. I don’t know if he plays everyday or not. But that doesn’t matter. With the Cubs he would be a bench guy who can play the outfield. If you or anyone else believes they need that, he would be a good option. I am not really sure it is a need.
  11. Wow, was that a BS call by the home plate umpire. Guy got hit in the balls. He needed to step out. WTF!
  12. Chibear, again, you suggested it would be great to have a good outfielder on your bench. Tauchman would be that good bench outfielder. Yet, now you are saying his AB would be limited. So which is it? Is it a good idea to get a solid outfielder or isn’t it important because he wouldn’t be used much anyway?
  13. Didn’t you say you weren’t going to worry about this until after the Cubs and Brewers play in August. Each would have 34 games left. Not 3 hrs later and you are worrying about it.
  14. Why? Why would the Cubs field a worse defensive team than they would just playing Happ in left? I mean, if you are suggesting to give Happ a rest more often, maybe that is a good idea. But it is definitely weakening the defense when you do that.
  15. They are. But they are an interesting team. They might trade even in the race, but might want guys to help them now. They also view players differently than most organizations. So if they like Ballasteros and also Brown maybe they do something with those two guys for Bradly and Fairbanks. This is just an example. Maybe they feel Ballasteros can help them now. Maybe they want Cassie and want him I. The line up now. Bradley isn’t going to be cheap. I’m not saying that is a fair deal. I honestly don’t know. But IMO if the Rays traded guys now they would want guys they think can help now, back.
  16. He is an odd fit. But the story suggests it was Bradley and Fairbanks mainly. Diaz sure can hit, and he would be a great platoon for Busch, but he is too good a hitter to come off the bench as a pinch hitter and play 1st against lefties.
  17. Yes he would. As a 5th starter he would be good.
  18. Fair. Just making you aware it was did 2. I think I would trade Brown for those two. I value your opinion and understand why you don’t see Suarez as big an upgrade as many do. But I can’t help but love the idea of his bat in the line up. However, I would also be ok with Kelly in one deal and Castro in another and not lose Brown.
  19. Assad is not the answer, even if he comes back perfectly healthy, unless the question is who could be a good 5th starter on a Cubs team that wants to contend for the WS, To that, the answer could be Assad.
  20. All 3 of those guys would cost a decent amount of young talent. Bradley has a lot of control left. But the Rays seem to value prospects differently. So who knows who they want.
  21. It isn’t one rental. It is two, with one being the best hitter available. I wouldn’t either for just one of those guys. But for both, I think I would.
