  1. Hope they have the pen ready. Brown has looked good, but when something goes bad he can’t regroup.
  2. That could be why there is no deal.
  3. This is exactly it. He loses focus. When anything goes wrong he can’t get back on track. So frustrating.
  4. What are they going to do with Diaz? He hasn’t played 3rd since 2022.
  5. Would Ryan be 3? Is that absurd? I am not sure it is. Maybe Ryan and Castro? Cassie, Wiggins and Rojas? Can’t blame the twins for asking.
  6. Agreed. Would be fun to see Alcantara for Alcantara. Bet there has never been two guys with the same last name traded for each other. I do kind of remember years ago the white Sox trading for a guy that they mistook for another guy with the same last name. Don’t remember the exact details, but it did happen.
  7. I get that. But if he had to go for a front line starter I would be ok trading him too. Even if Tucker left, Alcantara, Ballasteros or Long can fill that spot in the line up. That said, hope they keep Tucker!🤞
  8. Sorry, I thought it was a comma after Cassie, not a period. So I thought you had all those guys in your list who you wouldn’t trade for Ryan. My bad. Yes, if Cassie was untouchable, the Cubs could still do something for Ryan with 3 top guys. I personally don’t see Cassie as untouchable.
  9. Brown, Wicks and another prospect for Suarez? I know it has been said to you before, but I am glad you are not the Cubs GM.😅 All jokes aside, I wouldn’t do that.
  10. See you want the ace but want to give up scrubs. It doesn’t work that way. 5 minor league guys with limited upside is not going to get them Ryan. Sure, I would agree with you if the Cubs could get Ryan for Long, Gallagher, and 3 other guys who probably will never play in the majors. But if we are being realistic, would you do Cassie, Wiggins and any other prospect the Twins want for Ryan? If not, than stop suggesting they can get a TOR starter. Because with what you are offering, they can’t.
  11. Who are these guys they have an opportunity to get that are TOR starters? And for what? Do you want to give up 3 top 100 prospects plus a couple of other young high ceiling guys for a sure TOR starter. Easy to say opportunity is there. But when it comes to cost, it gets harder.
  12. Hard to see them getting Gore. They are dealing with an interim GM. I don’t see how that could work. Hope they are holding things up because they are waiting on Gore. I don’t see it happening.
  13. Looking more at the idea of Keller and Bednar. That would be something I could like. If they could get those two by dealing Cassie and maybe Triantos or someone in that area, I think I would do it. Even if they had to add another small piece I would be fine. But I think that probably won’t be enough. When we start to get to Cassie, Triantos and Gallagher it gets harder to accept. But it might take that much. It does help the rotation and is a huge boost to the pen. If the Cubs think there is another level to Keller, you might see something here.
  14. Are Cabrera and Alcantara higher to you? They are to me. I would rather take a chance at a TOR guy then get a steady MOR pitcher for Cassie. You are not getting Gore or Ryan unless they add several more pieces to Cassie. Do we want that?
  15. It does. And I know you are saying it critically. However Q did go 7-3 with the Cubs the year they got him. In 84 innings he struck out almost 100 guys and pitched to a low 3 era. If Keller did that, I would be happy. And there is always a possibility Cassie turns into Jimenez. Just don’t want to lose two top guys in this one. Honestly I don’t want to lose any, but I do think the cost will be higher than people will be happy with.
  16. And right now Priester is the other pitcher against Rea. Really hope we get an Marlin pitcher today to slot him in for Tuesday.
  17. Sadly I do think the price for Keller is Cassie. Too many buyers and not enough sellers. I think either Cassie or Alcantara goes for either Keller, Cabrera or Alcantara. And depending on which one, maybe an additional price also has to be added.
  18. I hope something happens today. 🤞
  19. That is my thought as well. It would be an easy move to make today. And either Marlin pitcher can pitch on Tuesday. I just have a feeling if they do get one of those two about of this fanbase will be upset at the cost. But they do need a rotation piece.
  20. I am sure they will. But if they do, and also mention the prices to add were just too steep for them, there is truth in that comment. I do expect them to do something. But anyone who thought they would get more than 3 guys is just not being realistic. There are too many teams buying and not enough to buy. If the Cubs can come away with 1 solid rotation piece, maybe a pen arm and someone like Castro I would say they did ok. I think it will be more likely be one rotation piece then either a pen arm or a bench bat. Not both.
