  1. A huge reason why they are so good right now is that they got Teal, Meidroth, and Braden Montgomery (top 30 prospect) in that deal from the Red Sox for Crochet. That's as good as it gets - 2 starting big leaguers and a slugging corner OF with upside. One more deal like that but more pitching prospect heavy? They'd be set. Probably the best farm system at that point with a lineup full of young talent already at the MLB level. I don't think Martin will ever have a season like this again, personally. And I think the pitching market will be the same as it was last season.
  2. If I'm the Sox I'd trade him for a haul this year. His value has never and will never be higher. They are unfortunately not that far away from being a damn good team. I thought Getz was an egg head but he actually seems competent.
  3. True, I can't wait until the team gets healthy and he gets DFA'd
  4. Everything that is happening is on Craig. If he took out Cabrera when he gave up back to back walks to begin the 5th, the Cubs would still have at least a 2 run lead.
  5. this might just be the worst game of PCA's career. An embarrassing strikeout that went to the backstop, a terrible bunt that cost the team a run, and forgetting how many outs there are. Brutal.
  6. I hate when managers try to let a guy get thru 5 innings for seemingly no other reason than to qualify for a meaningless stat. It's been obvious for like 4 batters in a row that this guy is finished for the night and now they risk blowing the lead
  7. It seems inevitable that this dude gives up exactly 3 runs every time
  8. Leadoff walk when you've been spotted a 3 run lead? Now I realize why so many managers lose their hair
  9. One more knock here the Cubs should be in cruise control..
  10. Yeah I don't think the Cubs handed PCA a fat extension to lay down drag bunts in obvious RBI situations. Even if it works out on occasion. He's gotta get more comfortable in that spot.
  11. Alright I've been posting in last game's thread wondering where everyone is lmao. Great swings today by Busch
  12. Suzuki swinging at anything and everything except what's right down the middle
  13. He said “When Steele comes back, they can decide which one goes to the pen, depending on their performance”
  14. Those Sox jerseys are so damn ugly. Trying too hard to be like the Bulls
  15. I'm a Justin Steele truther, the idea of him going into the bullpen is blasphemy to me.. lol. Jk. I can't wait to watch him pitch again though. He is a top 25-30 pitcher in the game and it's not fair that the Cubs are down 2 of those guys.
  16. Personally, I hope the Cubs don't try to stretch him out again to be a starter, at least not until next season. Let him keep dominating in this Cade Smith type of role with the occasional spot start. Don't break what's working.
