  1. 13 K/9 between AA and AAA this year over 62 innings
  2. Seems like a strong return for Leiter
  3. Deadline in 6 today. Excited to see all the moves. Nightengale saying Crochet likely goes today but Robert doesn’t.
  4. Man I wish we could pull off a Vladdy trade since the Jays are selling
  5. I really don’t know where to post trade reports. Every thread is littered with some type of trade convo, even the game thread lol
  6. I wouldn’t be mad at a lineup with Vlad, Paredes, and Soto in it lol. It seems so possible but so impossible at the same time.
  7. Idk if it will work, but Jed finally making some moves on consequence. I like it on the surface
  8. I mean I agree with this point. As far as playing the media goes, I agree with him saying he doesn’t know. I just meant I’m not buying that he doesn’t know exactly what he wants to do. Sure, what he wants to do may not come together, but he still has a plan. That’s all I was saying.
  9. Is he trying to say Jed is still unsure what he wants to do 2 days before the deadline? Yeah. No. I don’t buy that
  10. The Rays will turn Lesko into prime Pedro but right now, that guy just can’t consistently throw strikes. Elite stuff, no control.
  11. Can we trade for O’Hoppe lol
  12. I mean Jazz is a really average player
  13. & the O’s could get desperate if they can’t land Skubal or Crochett meaning one of the 3 listed could be available.
  14. I just don’t even know where to begin on Taillon. I have no idea what he will bring back. The Astros system suckssss. I wonder if there’s a deal to be done with the Yankees that brings back Dominguez? Or with the Red Sox that brings back Teel? Or the O’s with one of Basallo, Mayo, Kjerstad? Taillon straight up probably isn’t getting that headliner, but I wonder what it would take. I’d like a legit catching prospect coming through the system that’s close. Love Mo, but I don’t think he’s ever going to be out everyday catcher.
  15. I have ALOT to complain about with Jed, but I’m at the point where I almost trust anything he does trade wise. He’s been really horsefeathers good in all these deals. If/when he decides to move Taillon, I trust what he decides to accept.
  16. Or you could move Busch to 3rd and go get Vladdy. Although that potentially could be an awful corner infield defense.
  17. Get ready to give up Horton or Shaw ++. He’s incredible, but pass. If we were a piece away, like when we traded Torres for Chapman, then I’d do it. But we have plenty other holes to fill than a reliever, especially with how volatile relievers are. Yes, odds are he will be a lock down closer for years to come, but relievers are the hardest to project. Again, they are just so volatile.
  18. Who does? Steele is 29 and under control for 4 more years. Brown has looked really good. Horton is still an elite SP prospect. Wesneski still has good BORP potential if he can figure out how to get lefties out. Wicks is injured, but he’s not dead. It’s not perfect, but a lot of potential there. And again, you still are allowed to make moves in free agency and trades.
  19. Matt Shaw has a 134 wRC+ and on pace for around 20 home runs and that’s not a top 100 prospect? Lol
  20. I mean I personally consider a team full of young pitching, a couple young position players, one of the best farm systems in baseball on the cusp. Do they need to supplement in free agency? Of course. Should they make a big trade from their prospect capitol for a ready made major league player? Of course. The ingredients of a good team is there. The “cusp” means not there yet, but close. I do think this team is close. It’s up to Jed to get us there. Soto would be a hell of a good start. The prospects are there to make a big move. Which is why I’m beating the drum of Jed/Ricketts showing some horsefeathers urgency. How long are we going to wait all these prospects out? What if they bust? You need to make moves now. The game has started, so I’m sure everyone would appreciate if we take this conversation elsewhere.
  21. There’s a lot to like about playing for the Chicago Cubs. One of the most passionate fanbases that would adore him. Historic franchise. One of the best farm systems in baseball which should help supplement for years to come. Payroll flexibility to continue to add via free agency. A team that’s on the cusp really. At the end of the day, it’s not like we are the Chicago White Sox trying to sign him. If you have to overpay to get him, do it. He will go to the highest bidder.
  22. Brave of Jed to assume he’d be here for the full Soto deal anyways. I want to win now. I don’t care what Juan Soto is doing 8 years from now. A large market team like the Cubs should be able to absorb the back end of his contract when that time gets here.
