  1. Heyman said it in his live show he does. I think it’s on Bleacher Report, but not entirely sure. I rarely watch it because I always come away feeling like he’s just throwing hypotheticals out.

  3. 1) I don’t buy we are serious suitors for Bregman. Just doesn’t feel like a Jed move all things considered 2) Hypothetically if we did sign Bregman, and if the interest is serious, I think Jed would all but have a deal agreed upon to send Nico elsewhere for pitching 3) Nico is already at camp fielding balls. I don’t think he’s throwing yet, but he’s going through drills. So I doubt there were any setbacks further than what was expected
  4. Heyman reported earlier Cubs and Astros were the finalist for Bregman. I’ve never really thought we were serious suitors for him this whole time. So every time these reports come out, it’s a little surprising. Maybe they are just continuously using the Cubs as leverage so he gets what he’s after in Houston.
  5. It’s solid. But you would be buying King who turns 31 in his first year of the deal, Framber who would be 33 at the start of his contract, Gallen will turn 31 in August of his first year. A bunch of guys that will be good initially but aging quickly. Without diving into it, not sure what happened to Bichette in 2024. Appears it was injury plagued, but he was pretty bad when he played. Vladdy is apparently turning down $300+M from Toronto. So he either hates Toronto, or he thinks he can push $400m in free agency. Toronto is always seemingly in the running for these stars, but they never choose Toronto. Vladdy is an elite bat, but he’s pushing DH only. The glove isn’t good at 3rd or 1st. Thats a ton of money to pay a DH and yes this is coming from somebody who wanted to give Soto $500M (yes I know he signed for much more than that). Still a solid FA class though as you said.
  6. Brandon Birdsell is a BORP that should be close to helping, no?
  7. I like that. Get a proven back end of the bullpen reliever for a current JAG prospect and $8M. Add Robertson/Stanek and pen is in a good spot.
  8. Don’t think it’s been reported yet
  9. Thought I saw Yates got $13M per
  10. Juan Bello going back it appears
  11. The Brewers could sign the entire Savannah Bananas roster and still find a way to win the NL Central.
  12. His mom is tweeting like the ball is in Ryan’s court now. His decision whether to accept the trade or not. I know this is rather common sense, but feels noteworthy at least coming from his mom. It does mean there’s validity to the report and seemingly the Astros and Cubs are content on a package, just waiting on Ryan to move forward.
  13. Sorry wasn’t directing that to you. I agree with what you’re saying. I was just airing my frustrations about their approach in response to your post, not at you.
  14. Because god forbid the Chicago Cubs go over that $241M. I would hate for Tom Trying To Break Even Ricketts suffer more Biblical Losses by going over a bit. I can only imagine how owning the Cubs and Wrigleyville is such a horrible investment that makes him and his family almost zero money and trying to use their advantage of being a large market team would sink that family and their profits. I mean god bless the Ricketts for even willing to spend enough to run out a 85 win team while only breaking even at years end. That’s true dedication on their part.
  15. I don’t buy this report. It would be super fun though to pair him and Hodge in the back end of the pen. I would be shocked if Jed went 4/80 on Scott. I don’t see anybody going 4/80 on him, not even LA. We will see though… sounds like he’s close to a decision.
  16. I mean yeah. That’s basically what was reported. 3 year deal with opt outs after each year. Basically the Bellinger 2.0 contract.
  17. I’m guessing if this ever came to fruition, Nico likely gets traded for SP and Shaw likely plays 2B.
  18. I would consider sending my first born to KC for Bobby Witt lmao
  19. Personally I’d pay up for Burnes and then turn around and trade Taillon. Surely you can get a contender to take him at 1/18. I don’t know what Burnes will end up get annually, he’s projected for 7/200 ($28M per year), so let’s call it 7/210 ($30M per year). Then you could turn around and trade Taillon and his 1/18. That puts you with around $28M left to spend. Get back on the phone with Miami to bring Luzardo over to take Taillon’s spot. That puts you with around $20M to spend on the bullpen. That’s a good rotation regardless, but if you add Sasaki as well, it’s pretty elite. Burnes Steele Shota Luzardo Boyd Sasaki
