  1. He was dealing but Cubs kept applying pressure but couldn’t break through and then they finally did
  2. That just doesn’t feel like a Brewers type of move. However maybe they are tired of coming up short year over year and decide to make a big move. Who knows. I’m fascinated to see what happens
  3. I don’t know who exactly I’d trade Ayers for but I’d absolutely without hesitation cash in on his season. If a guy most people haven’t even heard of to start the year can be a headliner for a good SP, that’s a no brainer.
  4. It feels so good to finally have a super duper star
  5. Glad I’m not the only one lmao
  6. Right and why would SD want to limit their return? Just eat it and get the prospects. Nobody is taking on enough of that contract to where it even makes sense for SD. Even if they ate half of it, you’re still not getting anything for Miller. I mean I bet they would love to get out from under it, but it ain’t happening.
  7. Unbelievable we’ve got the same fWAR from Conforto as Kyle Tucker on July 21st for $55M less. Conforto is also rocking a 125 wRC+ compared to Kyle’s 96 wRC+.
  8. I haven’t seen it, nor have I cared to look, but I had 2 buddies tell me today they read that SD insists on somebody eating the Bogaerts contract in any Mason Miller trade. Maybe that’s them just throwing it out there to see if anybody bites if true, but man if I’m SD, just give me the prospect haul.
  9. I know that horsefeathers hurt. Got Dansby right in the face. Yikes
  10. Likely doesn’t mean much but there’s not much to talk about so I’ll post it anyways. Heyman listed the Cubs, Braves, Rays as potential suitors for Skubal today. Oh and his “wild card” team is….. drumroll… the Los Angeles Dodgers lol.
  11. Im guessing teams don’t feel confident in getting Joseph Contreras away from Vanderbilt? Honestly only reason I know who he is is because of the WBC, but I figured he would be very intriguing target for teams. Apologies if he’s been drafted and I missed it also
  12. Contrades the Padres just drafted gave me nightmares in the regionals. I thought that kid was going to hit one 500 feet every time he came up to the plate. Dude hit missiles all over the field the whole weekend
  13. I think I really like what they’ve done. Townsend looks like your prototypical power starting pitcher. Sorrell is a big time all around player with top end SEC results. Bailey’s power is prolific. I saw the Schwarber comps, and yeah sign me up for that kind of power. Jasa is such a fun arm to get in the lab and see what you can unlock. All 4 have question marks for one thing or another, but all 4 also have very fun upside. I’m kind of cool with how day 1 played out even if I personally preferred Rabe to Townsend. I still really like Cade.
  14. 2 pitchers taken in the first 17 picks. 5 picks left until we pick. Who are yall watching that you really hope makes it to us that you didn’t think would before the draft started?
  15. Absolutely. And good point on PCA. I’ll just trust the decision makers. If it’s Cade, I’ll get on board with that. I really like him despite how it comes off. He’s clearly extremely talented. If they go somebody else, Jackson, Rose, etc that’s understandable too. A lot of unknown in this draft seemingly. Should be a fascinating day!
  16. Makes sense. Thank you. I guess my concerns with Townsend are less about his abilities as a pitcher and more the mental side. He’s talked about how it’s been a struggle coming out really amped up and the mental side when things don’t go perfectly. I know they’ve worked hard with him on that, but that always worries me when guys are struggling with the mental side of things before even becoming a professional. The other thing with Townsend (which I’m sure if the Cubs draft him they will be sure of) is his health. He came out of his start against Texas and came back a few weeks later and made a few good starts but then just didn’t look right to end the year. Which is also why they just really didn’t pitch him at all in the post season.
  17. Speaking of Rabe, what do you make out of this? I’d love your opinion. I’m guessing this is all correct. I haven’t followed this account but ran into it and thought it was interesting data
  18. Man if we are taking an Ole Miss pitcher I much prefer Rabe. I watched every start both made this year. It’s not even close to me. Rabe is just a dog out there with electric stuff. But I also wanted no part of Cade Horton, so I’m no expert lol.
