Huge difference between calling things you don't like "gay" and saying that you "hate gay people" yeah, i definitely grew up saying and thinking things i’m embarrassed about now, but i really don’t know how you get to 17 tweeting stuff about you hate gay people and using the n-word without just being a hate-filled piece of trash. there are a lot of hate-filled pieces of trash out there, and even more people who have no trouble abiding them, so stuff like this should never be a surprise.

So there is roughly 2.5 pitchers per team who have pitched enough to qualify on each team. That kind of says a lot on its own. The Cubs got him to give them a lot of quality innings at an affordable price, not be a shutdown ace. Oh I'm not really criticizing the deal, which i would probably do 100 times over (even if I think Q is kind of an obnoxious pitcher to watch,) I just don't think Brett's general attitude of "SEE I TOLD YOU (something) WAS GOOD WHEN YOU SAID IT WAS ACTUALLY BAD" is warranted here. brett is quietly pretty terrible about stuff like this. i find him really hard to take.

“essentially blocked/ignored” is such a meaningless phrase, just trying to smear fowler. if fowler actually blocked matheny’s number in his phone, that would be hilarious and also an actual story. but “essentially blocked/ignored” means what, that he almost but didn’t stop reading the texts? what the hell does that even mean?
